Another week, another roundup of Strikeforce news items, kiddies.  Let’s get it on!

If you haven’t already heard, the “Strikeforce: Feijao vs Hendo” card coming up this Saturday will now be at least 50% less sexy than planned.  Meisha “Rumblebum” Tate (yes I am going to link that gif every time) has pulled out of her 135-lb title fight with champ Marloes Coenen due to a knee injury, and replacing her on 11 days notice is Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche.  Who?  Exactly.

Carmouche has been a pro for less than a year, has appeared twice on Challengers cards, and while she’s undefeated at 5-0, her first four opponents have a combined record of 2-6.  That’s her above, booting one of those poor girls right in the titty.  Her most recent match was Jan Finney, who has a record of 8-9 and the losses on it read like a who’s-who of WMMA, including Tate, Erin Toughill, Julie Kedzie (3 times), and being fed (almost literally) to Cris Cyborg back in June.  So yeah, it’s fair to say this will be the first time Carmouche has faced anyone even half-decent, but they’re chucking her in against a top-level champion with a decade of experience.  I’m no gambler, but if you feel like throwing some money down on a long-shot, I’d say they don’t get much longer than this.

And speaking of last minute, for the second time in a row, SF apparently just finalized this card on the Monday before the event… just in time for Tyler Combs to get hurt and pull out of his match with Jorge Gurgel.  After a frantic search, they’ve reportedly dug up some local bushleaguer named Billy Vaughan to step in.  So as of right this minute, the card’s now like this:

LHW Title: Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante (10-2) vs. Dan “Hendo” Henderson (26-8)
Women’s WW (135-lb) Title:
Marloes Coenen (18-4) vs. Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche (5-0)
Tim Kennedy
(12-3) vs. Melvin Manhoef (24-8-1)
Billy Evangelista (11-0) vs. Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal (20-6)
Roger Bowling (8-1) vs. Josh Thornburg (5-1)
Jorge “Fuck BJJ” Gurgel (13-7) vs. Billy Vaughan (9-6)
Jason Riley (9-5) vs. Jay Freeman (5-4)
Ian Rammel (2-1) vs. Brian Rogers (6-2)
Marc Cofer (3-3) vs. Mitch Whitesel (15-20) (lulz)
John Felty (0-0) vs. John Kuhner (0-2)

In other news, Bobby “Black Lesnar” Lashley has left SF indefinitely and returned to the wilderness to fade into obscurity work on his game, where he will headline “Titan Fighting Championships 17” on March 25th against something called a James Jack.  Also on that card, poor Phil Baroni will crush a 1-2 can named Nick Nolte (not the Four-Leaf Tayback one), and TUF also-ran and recent Sylvia-smasher Abe Wagner will face Bellator and SF vet Aaron Rosa.

If you’re wondering what happened to the girl Coenen took the belt from, Sarah Kaufman will return to action on April 2nd, but not in Strikeforce.  She’ll instead appear in front of a hometown crowd in Victoria, BC, at “Armageddon Fighting Championships 5” against an opponent to be named later.  She’s still under contract to SF, and is basically taking this one to stay busy until they get off their asses and give her another fight.

And last but not least, Corissa Furr is the big winner of the Strikeforce ring-girl search contest.  This gorgeous brunette was my choice too, and should stand out nicely amongst SF’s staff of near-identical blondes.  There’s a bunch of pics on her website, and CagePotato has a compiled a fine roundup of intriguing selections (like THIS ONE).  But since I loves you all so much, here’s a few more:
