UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is celebrating three years atop the division the only way he knows how.
Jones, who posted that Wednesday marked three years to the day he defeated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua to become UFC champion, stated plans to put in a “full day of extreme hard work.”
Jones (19-1) bested Rua at UFC 128 via third round TKO. He has since successfully defended the belt vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen and Alexander Gustafsson.
Next up for “Bones” will be Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 next month.
Today is my third year anniversary of being the @UFC light heavyweight champion!!! I'll reward myself with a full day of extreme hard work
