Anderson Silva

All good things come to those who wait. If you’re Chris Weidman you’re calling bullshit on that over-used piece of crap cliche. Weidman has been campaigning for a fight against Anderson Silva for close to a year now, and has finally gotten his wish. The New Jersey native is set to take on the reigning king of the middleweight division and pound for pound great at UFC 162, but all those campaign dollars may be for naught as Silva is rumored to have a fractured rib. Here’s what Brazil’s Yahoo! Sports is saying about Silva’s injury (props to MiddleEasy for the translation).

A bomb, unveiled Wednesday, may change plans Dana White for the next editions of the UFC. According to information given by the Sports Interactive Internal sources clinic where he (Anderson Silva) was examined, in Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva had a broken rib. Still do not know the extent of the problem, but it could put at risk the Spider at UFC 162, which would face Chris Weidman.
If you’re having trouble reading the translated print just imagine your talking with Wanderlei Silva – it’s not a knock, it’s just a frame of reference. If you remember correctly Silva fought Chael Sonnen at UFC 117 with a “cracked rib” and pulled off one of the greatest Hail Mary submissions ever seen. I’m not so sure Silva wants to try that with Weidman, who made Mark Munoz look like a contestant on Bully Beatdown. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are true, but until then get your conspiracy theory swag on.
