Now this surprises me. After previous WEC shows at the Hard Rock sold about as well as a leper kissing booth, I figured the WEC was nucking futs for trying to do Jens Pulver vs Urijah Faber at the 18,000 person Arco Arena. Even closing off half the arena meant 7,500 more tickets to sell than they normally manage. But through some magical combination of Urijah Faber’s glorious chin and the show not being at the ass-sucking Hard Rock Casino, the show is selling very well:

After a sell out of almost 8,000 tickets in the lower bowl of the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif., World Extreme Cagefighting ® (WECâ„¢) announced today that it is opening the upper sections of the arena for WEC: Faber vs. Pulver. The additional seating will be priced at $35 (not including applicable services or taxes).

The cool thing about these cheap seats is you could fly out to California, buy a ticket, 2 hotdogs and a few beers for less than you’d pay for a ticket to any UFC event. I bet the chicks at a WEC show are a lot more likely to put out too. Just remember: What happens in Sacremento stays in Sacremento.
