WEC returns to the fucking Joint

One of the big issues the WEC used to have after getting bought out by Zuffa was that many of their events were held at the pathetically small Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas. Mayhem Miller put it best when he said fighting in the Joint was like competing at a high school wrestling meet. So I was very happy when the WEC took their show on the road and started doing events in bigger venues.

Unfortunately, WEC 42 will return to the Joint. But it could be a different experience all together:

The Joint recently underwent a transformation and opened as a larger venue. Once constricted to no more than 1,500 spectators, the concert and event venue can now accommodate up to 4,000 fans.

Now we have to wait and see if that just means the event will feature an extra 3000 empty seats. WEC events outside of Vegas regularly pull 5000+ attendees. The last two WEC events at the Joint? WEC 37 with 643 people (353 paid) and WEC 35 with 1006 people (734 paid). And that was BEFORE the economy collapsed and things in Vegas went to shite.
