It looks like the UFC isn’t wasting any time stacking it’s cards back up now that the great Gypsy Curse of 2009 is winding down. Check out what they’ve got coming up for us on their Versus debut:
- Jon Jones vs. Brandon Vera
- Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
- Paul Buentello vs. Cheick Kongo
- John Howard vs. Anthony Johnson
- Shannon Gugerty vs. Clay Guida
And before the Guida fight went all Gugerty on our asses, it was Sean Sherk set to face the Carpenter. Unfortunately, Sherk seems to have lost the ability to fight or something because this is his third pullout in a row – he hasn’t been seen since he took a mile long run of shame from the Octagon after losing to Frankie Edgar back in May 2009.
Anyways, this post isn’t about Sherk’s career circling the toilet of relevancy. It’s supposed to be a gusher about how great the UFC on Versus looks. The best part of this card? It’s free! If you get Versus, that is. But the UFC is trying to assure people that the great Versus / DirecTV kerfuffle will be worked out in time for this event (which we’ve heard before), and that the show will ‘probably’ be on Canadian television. Let’s hope so, because the last thing I’d have to do is have to pirate this card and face the wrath of Zuffa’s army of evil lawyers over it.
