Failing several drug tests has dropped Anderson Silva to fifth in the middleweight rankings, as the UFC updated their official standings recently.
Silva, who returned from a year-long layoff to defeat Nick Diaz, dropped three spots. Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold all passed him. “The Spider” tested positive for numerous banned substances in both his pre- and post-fight tests.
Tim Boetsch and Brad Tavares also moved up a spot to 13th and 14th, while Roan Carneiro debuted at 15th after defeating Mark Munoz.
Tony Ferguson, fresh off another victory, debuted at 13th in the lightweight Top-15, passing Jorge Masvidal and Al Iaquinta. Eddie Alvarez and Bobby Green flipped for 10th.
Dong Hyun Kim and Jake Ellenberger each passed Kelvin Gastelum at welterweight, with Kim being ninth and Ellenberger 10th.
Holly Holm jumped three spots to 10th in the women’s bantamweight rankings after besting Raquel Pennington.
