Tito Ortiz not fired, just doomed

It looks like Tito Ortiz still has a job … for now. He’s slated to face Lil Nog in March, and lets just say I don’t hold very high hopes for the guy who just got outstruck by Matt Hamill. Still, it’s worth remembering that Nog is a guy who’s just lost twice in a row (fuck what the judges said about that Brilz fight) due to his UK-level wrestling.
Another interesting thing to note: the fight will be in the Middle East, which seems appropriate. Considering their panache for Michael Jackson, Baywatch, and other mid-90s Americana, it might be the only place left where people still think Tito Ortiz is a superstar. Plus there’s something very Garfield about Dana sending Tito to Abu Dhabi to get rid of him. Yes, that’s the one Garfield-related Abu Dhabi joke I’m allowed for the year. I hope you enjoyed it.

What’s with the sudden flood of content in the last few days? You guys get fired from your day jobs or something?

  • Reverend Clint says:

tito needs to start dropping hints that he suspects lil nog is a mossad agent.
No doubt the fact he sticks his weiner in that cavern called jenna jameson also wins hin some fans over there

  • frickshun says:

The only thing connecting you to Garfield is that both of you became fat bastards from inhaling too much lasagna.

  • Symbul says:

But what if Tito actually manages to lay on LilNog for two rounds and wins?

  • FiveBoltMain says:

Little Nog has looked like crap in his last two fights. What’s to say that Tito some how manages to pull off the upset, what becomes of Little Nog? He was brought in to challenge for the 205 belt, but he has looked horrible.

  • Redping says:

Little Nog stuffed like a dozen takedowns in a row in his last fight, and was kind of shocked that he lost by such a big margin just because of the couple of takedowns that got through.

Somehow I’m doubting Tito is going to have the same success Bader did, Nog will be better prepared, will probably forget about leg kicking entirely and just focus on boxing him up. If he starts the fight as he came into the 3rd round in the bader fight, he’ll take him. Bader controlled him but it wasn’t like Lil nog got smashed, i think he got with one big-looking punch the whole time and the rest of the time bader would just take him down, not make anthing happen, and then nog would get up. For me to believe that nog SUCKED in that fight, I’d have to think that Evan Dunham fought badly against Sherk, and that Duane Ludwig won one of the first two rounds against Ozipak and the last one was a 10-8. AND THAT’S NOT WHAT I THINK GOD DAMNIT

Tito will lose by decision is there’s any right in the world left, Lil Nog is no contender and will probably get fired soon but jesus christ nobody deserves to get their walking papers handed to them by tito, that’s like getting kicked out the ufc by Mac Danzig or something

  • Symbul says:

I thought that third in the NickO-Bang fight was a clear 10-8, called the first two 10-9 Nick. Nick didn’t do shit besides awkwardly jog away from Duane, heave up his arms like they were made of lead and get punched in the face. He didn’t do shit. That’s a 10-8. So yeah, 28-28 Draw.

  • Redping says:

Yeah i dunno what qualifies a 10-8 though, sometimes you really have to have the guy on the verge of being finished the whole round before anyone gets one, and Duane couldn’t take Nick down or land any huge combos. Anyone know what happened to Nick in the 3rd? At first I thought he was tired but he worsened so rapidly (and usually his cardio isn’t much of a factor from what i’ve seen of him) that i thought he suffered liver failure or something, he looked like he became a zombie by the end of it

even then, a draw is the worst possible result in a fight. Varner vs Shalorus still pisses me off when i think about it

  • iamphoenix says:

because what your talking about relates to tito…

  • Letibleu says:

The joke is Zuffa is only paying him a one way ticket…

EDIT: Only Jenna, she dies via stoning if he looses. He will throw the fight in the second round even if he is loosing…

  • Oontyex says:

the scoring is def biased towards wrestlers, not only did he stop tons of takedowns before getting taken down, he took no damage from underneath, and if memories correct, one of them looked like he pulled guard on the way down.

judges need to factor damage before blinding paying out take downs. yes wrestling is important in mma – and it can let ppl control how they impose themself, but if no damage is done it should be valued as much as a stuffed take down.
