The world’s largest armbar

Thanks to Swedish Guy for the wicked screenshot!

    fedor “the koala” emelianenko

  • hankd says:

That’s awesome…looks like one of the Fedor armbar photoshops…

  • jazzn says:

Freakish. Fedor looks like one of Santa’s elves. Rather than see him fight Couture I’d rather just find an even bigger guy for him to fight. Someone at least 8 feet tall. Perhaps if we can find some kind of really tall guy and start feeding him all kinds of wicked drugs like that crap that McDonalds feeds the chickens they use, we can grow him really tall within a few months and then have the biggest freak show ever.

  • Jemaleddin says:

@jazzn: at the rate he’s going, Sean Sherk will be ready in 6 months!

  • RL Dookiefuck says:

Even if he did almost nothing this year, I was giddy as a schoolgirl when I saw Fedor tapping out that huge freak.

He’s still the best in the world.

  • cyphron says:

Now Fedor just needs to arm bar a midget and his legend will be cemented for all of eternity.

  • operator says:

Fuckin looks like he’s applying a leg lock instead. I think it would have been a better fight if hong would have worked some leg kicks or body kicks. I think if hong had some top notch training he could fuck some guys up with kicks alone.

  • igorpunck says:

That’s Russian way of saying HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

  • fightfan says:

    Nice knee bar!!

  • ttt says:

hong man definitely is not a can, he hit Fedor pretty bad

as much as i’d like to see Fedor fight top competition, I can’t imagine any other “top competition” having the guts to fight choi with thin gloves

  • The Grass Hoppa says:

    to operator:

Anyone skilled in MMA knows how to catch kicks, and with long legs like choi it’s the quickest way he could be taken down. He would want to minimize the chance of going to ground for his first few fights because of lack of exp. there. He probably did have top notch training and thats why he didn’t kick.
Top notch training for a few months before a fight will not get anyone past fedor, even with an extensive kickboxing background. Thats all there is too it.

  • Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

In Soviet Russia, armbar tap you.

  • andres says:

    Happy new years fightlinker
    U always make my day
Id like to smoke u out one time since over there in canada u got almost legal weed haha u think the ufc will still let me fightt haha

  • Higgz says:

The graphics make it look like a video game. Where’s the “Stamina Bar”?

  • dignan says:

That fight was a fucking joke for Fedor. It was the second attempt at an armbar in like 2 minutes, and dude fell for it.

Freaky photo though…looks like a fucking oompa loompa.

  • CaptainAmerica1967 says:

    Lets see Couture vs Fedor

  • atom says:

This pic is of the first armbar attempt, right?

  • JoeRoganIsAnAss says:

Yup, this is the 1st arm bar. But let us be reasonable; does anyone see Fedor pulling gaurd against Couture and then throwing up his Arm bar? Negative.

  • LR says:

Actually, I see Fedor doing the exact same thing to Couture if Couture actually wants to get into guard with him. That’s the biggest mistake most fighters make. You can’t really get top control on Fedor, so the key is to clinch for Couture.

Coleman tried to Greco-Roman Fedor and get top control… and don’t say some bullshit about how Mark Coleman was old. It was a non-issue when Coleman gained top control and was all over Fedor, only to be hurt by the fastest transitioning fighter in the world.

Fact is, Couture will need to avoid going into guard if he ends up fighting Fedor. If you watch the Choi fight, Fedor didn’t actively seek Choi’s arm. He waited for Choi to throw a strike, then held it against his chest and transitioned in a split second to the armbar. Nobody pays attention to Fedor’s transition game, it’s the number 1 reason he wins most of his fights.

  • riley says:

I gotta agree Fedor is ridiculously fast at transitions especially for a guy who looks like my dad. Hope the rumors of Arlovski signing with HDNet (I know he alreeady denied them but does that mean anything?) are true so people can see the speed of Fedor against someone as quick and athletic as AA.

  • dignan says:

Arlovski vs. Fedor would be a fucking joke.

  • Balloon Head says:

screw Fedor…………… let’s not forget the fact that THERE WERE NO KNEES ALLOWED………. hmmm, did anyone see any opportunities for Hong Man to use knees? yeah how about IN SIDE CONTROL………. Fedor is a joke, he’s the Great White Hype…… and screw his shitty little Sambo tourneys where his opponents didn’t even show up to face him………. he gave up a chance in the UFC for that?! !?!?! He doesn’t look or seem too smart to me

  • dignan says:

    Yah Fedor is all hype.

Forget all of the other fights in which he easily destroyed everyone…the guys a fucking joke.

  • MacDaddy says:

Let’s all also keep in mind that Fedor and his management totally ducked Semmy Schilt to fight Choi. Schilt called Fedor out after he won the K-1 Grand Prix, has almost as big of a freak factor as Choi, but can actually fight and doesn’t have the reflexes of a beached walrus.

  • Dru Down says:

Let’s all also keep in mind that Fedor already holds a win over Schilt. Unless Schilt has been dramatically improving his ground game since his first failed stint in MMA, I don’t see him having much luck in a second bout with Fedor.

  • Mobb Deep says:

Fedor looks like he hasn’t missed a step since his last fight. Fuck I wish he would have signed with the UFC.

  • LR says:

Semmy Schilt would have been just as overwhelmed, if not worse. Schilt did fight Fedor once, and it might have been different, but the difference is that Fedor took down Schilt, as to where he couldn’t take down Choi.

It probably would have made for a boring decision.

  • Zheroen says:

Man, this looks like some kind of ghetto carnival game from Kazakhstan – “Armbar the Giant!”.
