While Keith Kizer is currently all about crucifying any fighter caught gaming his system, there hasn’t been much movement on the ‘crucifying the judges who work for him that suck’ front. But last week Kizer accidentally opened the door a crack for positive change:
Keith Kizer, the NSAC’s executive director, told MMA Fighting on Tuesday that the state would not add cageside monitors for judges any time soon.
When asked if he would be open to the idea if a promoter, say, the UFC, asked for it, Kizer simply replied, “Maybe.”
“A promoter can petition (to allow judges to have personal monitors,) and we’d put it on the agenda,” Kizer told MMA Fighting. “The UFC is well aware of the process but has chosen not to ask in the past.”
And amazingly enough, the UFC stuck their foot in that door and are trying to blast through like an angry rapist coming to murder your family and ejaculate into their soon to be scooped out eye sockets:
“I’ve emailed [NSAC Executive Director] Keith [Kizer] and asked him to put the request on the next agenda. We believe these monitors will be another look to help with the judges,” Ratner wrote via e-mail.
This is a nice change from the old line from Ratner and the UFC, which went something like “We’ll start looking at the shitty judge problem when we finish sanctioning the sport in all states.” Because of our New York issues, that was tantamount to saying ‘When flying pigs descend upon Albany and devour all douchebag politicians.’ Could this be the beginning of Zuffa tackling one of the biggest problems in MMA???
