The Low Blow Episode 194: What the hell was that?

This week on the Low Blow, Jake and Ryan perform a postmortem on the second half of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix opening round. FightMetric’s declaration that Werdum won the fight is investigated, we play the blame game on who’s fault the suck was, and the nature of winning and losing is discussed. Josh Barnett’s mount, KJ Noons’ face, and Jeff Monson’s lack of craftiness also come up. And of course the show would not be complete without some Strikeforce deathwatch and Gina Carano speculation. One hour of HWGP madness!

Holy douche chills with that picture.

  • glassjawsh says:

I volunteer my services as a moderator ( though you have promised on many occasions that you’d never go that route, but understand why you would). because if it’s too offensive for the scat porn guy, it’s definitely over the line

  • Blackula Jonez says:

Maybe its because its coming out next week but I find myself surrounded by people half heartedly making excuses to see Transformers 3.

If you want to shit on these films that is fine by me but if you are going to watch this movie please remember that these are films based off a line of toys that had a tv show that was little more than a glorified commercial for said kid toys. The source material does not have the richest of origins.

People that actually care about any story element involvings humans or who only go to gawk at the actors/actresses are missing the point of these films, which are: Seeing 30 foot robots drop kick one another into skyscrapers while humans scatter through the crossfire.

This is a  summer sci fi action film with some of the best cgi and sound design in the industry and all i hear about is people bitching about whether the story will hold up as if the transformers show EVER had any cool story elements outside of robots fighting.

That being said the 2nd movie was a longwinded and shitty affair but the first movie has enough action scenes to warrant multiple viewings.

    Jacob was so wasted

Black–>how old are you? I grew up on Transformers back in the 80’s. In context of being a kid, all cartoons are corny & money grabs. But the shows tend to come 1st & are popular enough to warrant toys.

Of course the show storylines were lame although a pretty good parable over energon cubes being like oil now (the US is clearly the Decepticons). BUT…….the animated movie was pretty fucking awesome (hello…..QUINTESSONS!!) & was way more entertaining than these summer blockbuster pieces of shit. The robots all look the same & when the action gets fast, you can barely tell what’s going on. Plus, the CG is so obvious that you never get emotionally invested in what happens to these fake robots. Put that in contrast to a Pixar movie where you actually care about the characters. THAT’S WHY TRANSFORMERS SUCKS MY COCK DEEP INTO IT’S HERPES-INFESTED THROAT & SNEEZES MY JIZZ OUT IT’S NOSE.

  • DJ ThunderElbows says:

They sucked before, so we should want them to suck now

See how easy that was was Black?  1 line.

  • Roxy says:

I thought Werdum mocking Overeem and asking for him to come down was hilarious.  But obviously not gonna work.

  • P W says:

Fightmetric didn’t score any takedowns for Overeem? Ehhh, I guess they are just blatant liars or, because I clearly remeber him doing some muay thai takedowns and/or trip takedowns. Isn’t “intentionally making your opponent fall to the ground” the definition of a takedown? It should be. Sure, he didn’t follow it up, but that hasn’t stopped wrestlers for getting credit for it anyway.
