The explanation

Direct from NSAC head Keith Kizer:

“Their explanation was that Garcia fought all five minutes of that round,” he said. “He fought every second of the third round. Phan was taking time off, fighting in spurts, and was a lot less active, a lot less controlled. They found the criteria, and that’s how they weighed it.”

  • CAP says:

Fucking retarded. I guess being active and hitting air gets the nod. Might as well sit in the corner and shadowbox. Get a clue Kizer.

  • iamphoenix says:

I remember when I was a mentally challenged judge.

  • agentsmith says:

They call winging ridiculous haymakers that hit nothing but air being active? WTF happened to “effective striking”? Jesus wept. These guys really are retarded.

And WTF does “they found the criteria” mean? Like they went looking for an excuse to give it to Garcia?

  • P W says:

Garcia fools judges in the same way Clay Guida fools fans into believing he is actually doing something exciting.

  • frickshun says:

I have employed Garcia’s style in bed. IT WORKS!!

  • agentsmith says:

^^ You take multiple shots to the face while smiling?

  • Schrute Boxe says:

the best part of that reasoning is that Kizer refers to “that” round, inferring that there was only one round in question not the entire fight.

  • Blackula Jonez says:

Garcia did not hit nothing but air, his shots were blocked, and a ref sitting at the wrong angle could easily think those shots did damage.

If your going to stand with Garcia you need to use head movement ala Hominick. Landing on the forearms = effective striking to dumb ass judges.

    Kizer is fucking ridiculous.

  • Schrute Boxe says:

^^ and even then Hominick slipped by with a split-decision win.

  • Komodo says:

    Just. Fucking. Wow.

  • Márcio says:

Well now that they explained it… I still don’t get it.

  • Reverend Clint says:

its no different then a guy laying on a guy for the whole fight.

  • frickshun says:

^^Last time you laid on a guy he ended up @ the abortion clinic.

  • Tertio says:

This is beyond retarded. The simple fact that Kizer went on the record and gave that “explanation” is testament to the level of ignorance of the Nevada athletic commision.

  • Letibleu says:

My grandmother used to say “if you have nothing intelligent to say, don’t say anything at all”

Crap, this site would suck donkey balls if we all listened.

Maybe it’s less painful for Keith Kizer to defend his judges with off the wall logic than it is to pull up his pants and clean house. While we are at it, what was the logic behind not having monitors available to the judges?

BRING BACK CECIL PEOPLES! I miss pooping on him.

  • Reverend Clint says:

was this guy there to get an abortion or blow it up?

  • frickshun says:

Clearly, you were the father of his child!!

  • Reverend Clint says:

    was he a giant austrian

  • DaddyPants says:

these judges are fucking ridiculous. when they make decisions like this (especially the running gag that is Garcia’s decision winning when he is obviously losing) it reminds me of watching Japanese MMA, since when it goes to a decision it is essentially a coin toss. that’s really taking the sport out of MMA and making it more of a WWE type event. it makes it much harder to explain what’s happening to uneducated friends who may be watching for the first time, and often the bad judging is what they remember most. why do the fighters have to jump through so many hoops to be approved and legal to fight in what ever state, but to be a judge all you have to do is know somebody or you need to have been a boxing judge at some point in the last 40 years. maybe they should make the judges get certified at Herb Dean’s referee school too, at least then they’d have some clue as to what they were watching. i get the feeling that some of these bad judges think they are watching boxing, or at least they wish they were. the least they could do is have actual MMA fans for the judges. in japan unless you are a crowd favorite or a local, you probably aren’t gonna get the decision, even if you win decisively. in america we have idiot judges like Cecil Peoples that won’t give you the decision BECAUSE you won and Adalaide Byrd who will almost always judge against you if you aren’t the right color (both are perfect examples of why we need a better system to pick who is judging these bouts). its equally retarded and biased in both places, the big difference here is that America and especially the UFC is supposed to be legit. all this judging shenanigans really makes it hard to justify my precious MMA as an actual sport. to me it is the greatest sport on the planet, but to the haters all this judging shit is just proof that MMA is niche entertainment. i guess the same could be said for boxing.

Gus Johnson (RIP) has the same level of MMA knowledge as many of the judges we see picking winners at UFC events. this is sad.

I’m having trouble distinguishing between daddypants and the bot.

    Paragraphs. Use them.

  • Reverend Clint says:

ha yeah i got confused to

  • P W says:

DaddyPants: Your lack of ability to create paragraphs make you appear like a spambot. Just sayin’…
