Terry Martin says UFC81 is on CBS

Fueling rumors that the UFC/CBS deal is pretty much locked in, fighter Terry Martin sent out a bulletin on his MySpace saying this:

Just found out that I am suppose to fight Marvin Eastman Feb. 2, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay. The fight is to be aired on CBS. So it will be free for everyone. Time to get back on track with the Super Bowl of all knock outs.

Of course, how Terry Martin would know when everyone else has been left in the dark is unclear. Perhaps Terry is pulling a Joe Lauzon and just making shit up in order to get attention. Well, two can play at that game, Mr Terry Martin who has terminal penis AIDS.

  • RL Dookiefuck says:

wow you totally screwed up that link

  • Xavier says:

This could end up being very, very bad. If there’s a War Machine/Rollins type of bloodbath brutal fight on that card, it could set MMA back years in the mainstream. As great as that fight was, Network TV is just not ready for it.

  • Accomando says:

I actually agree with what Xavier said here. Get ready for the anti-mma outcry.

Boxing wasn’t relegated to the basement of the American public until Boom Boom Mancini beat that S. Korean dude to the point where he died 5 days later in the hospital. That was on, of all stations, CBS live for the public to see. I definitely can see the clouds gathering for a backlash against MMA now that is has techincally made it “mainstream”.

  • intenso says:

I actually think MMA has reached a point now where it can handle a little outcry about the brutality. Marginalizing the sport is going to create new fans.
Also, the PPV with Lesnar on it being on CBS would be huge. All the wrestling fans will tune in.

  • James says:

Terry retracted his early statements about UFC 81 being aired on CBS. He just posted another bulletin.

  • that was one hell of a typo, huh?

  • Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

I don’t care as long as it’s in HD.
