Strikeforce’s last card is officially pretty sweet

Strikeforce may have lost two of its three and a half (Daniel Cormier) championship bouts, but at least the rest of the card is filling up with interesting bouts. Let’s take a look at the show as it stands now:

  • Nate Marquardt vs Tarec Saffiedine (for WW title)
  • Daniel Cormier vs Dion Staring
  • Jacare vs Lorenz Larkin
  • Gegard Mousasi vs Mike Kyle
  • Tim Kennedy vs Trevor Smith
  • Pat Healy vs Jorge Masvidal
  • Josh Barnett vs Nandor Guelmino
  • KJ Noons vs Ryan Couture
  • Roger Gracie vs Anthony Smith

It’s a nice mix of competitive fights and squash matches, and a worthy last card for Strikeforce. One of the biggest problems with Strikeforce was the infrequency with which guys fought, so it’s nice to see guys like Josh Barnett, Daniel Cormier and Tim Kennedy getting fights even though they aren’t particularly relevant fights. No women, which is a shame. But the UFC (hopefully) picking up that torch is good enough for me.
