I try not to say “I told you so” all the time, because quite frankly people who do that are douches, and I’m trying to keep my lame level down around ‘general waddage’. But in the case of people believing what pro wrestlers or pro wrestling organizations say, I told you so: Never ever believe anything they freaking say. If they tell you water is wet, you better double check that shit to make sure it hasn’t turned dry. Case in point:
$20 million: The alleged amount of money Mayweather is supposed to be getting for his appearance. Not real. The most money anyone has ever earned for a one-time pro wrestling appearance was Mike Tyson at WrestleMania in 1998, which was good for about $3.5 million. Even though pro wrestling was more popular in America then, WrestleMania itself is a bigger money show now, partially because WWE’s popularity has expanded outside North America. But the Tyson of 1998 had more drawing power than the Mayweather of 2008. Wrestling sources indicate Mayweather is getting a $2 million flat fee, plus a percentage that should put him in Tyson’s range.
The article this comes from also includes a bunch of other hilarious information, such as the WWE’s original plans to make Floyd Mayweather Jr come off as a ‘good guy’. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve met anyone who I like less than Mayweather … he’s the cockiest piece of shit in the world. There are known child molesters out there with more charisma than that guy.
