Hopefully this will put to bed Rampage’s incessant whining about the overwhelming public demand for Rampage/Forrest II. And really, if you don’t think Rampage won that fight you’re just a filthy bigot anyway. Instead, we’re getting the fight people actually want to see: Rampage Jackson vs Glover Teixeira on January 26th, according to Rampage’s Twitter page:
“Outside the cage I hate no one. Life is too short for that. In side the cage my Job is to destroy! Glover is done on Jan. 26 n Chicago.”
Although not yet confirmed by the UFC, if true this bout will be part of an excellent card headlined by flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson taking on Jon Dodson – who are sure to put on a 25 minute cartoon dust cloud of fists and feet that the fans will piss all over, and a gnarly lightweight scrap between Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis.
Win or lose, this is the last fight on Rampage’s contract. Whether or not he departs for the Cheetos and hand jobs of the boxing world remains to be seen. But he will have his hands full with Teixeira, who is a fucking animal. Rampage may even have to remember that he’s in a MMA fight and nix the one-punch, headhunting style he’s adopted over the past several years. Wouldn’t that be an avant garde strategy for a MMA fighter?
