(Never gets old.)
According to a little blue birdie, Mark Coleman has pulled out of his UFC 106 bout with Tito Ortiz.
Ortiz informed us via his Twitter account that he will need another opponent soon:
Coleman, coleman, coleman to bad he sissies out!!! Who’s next??? I’m kicking someone’s ass on Nov 21st!
Awwww schucks. This one was gonna be a barnburner (/chandler bing). Actually, it’s the best case scenario because nobody would have taken Tito seriously had he fought Coleman. Sure, Mark beat Bonnar and was gonna beat Shogun in January, but the “old man” storyline only works with Randy.
The UFC needs to use this opportunity to get Tito at least a younger opponent for his big comeback. This is going to be a groin-grabbingly good card for the mainstream media to latch onto because of both Brock and Tito headlining. Tell me, what looks better going across the bottom of the ESPN ticker, “Ortiz beats some nobody” or “Ortiz beats “>Hans Moleman”?
Tito can do his best Goldberg impression all he wants (what after this, putting his arm through a limo window?), but don’t think for one second that Coleman “sissies out” of fights with anyone. “Da Hammah” is the same man whose last nine opponents include Fedor, Shogun, Crocop, Noguiera and Bonnar. In reality the dude is getting kinda old so he’s more prone to injury. Maybe he sat on his balls or something.
