Looks like someone’s gonna get themselves a nomination for this year’s ‘Worst Arrest’ Worstie. From the Niagra Falls Review:
Well-known martial artist Harold Howard, 51, of Niagara Falls, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a weapon, attempted break and enter, fail to remain, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief and two counts of breach of recognizance.
Niagara Regional Police report a male drove his pick-up truck into the front doors of the Fallsview Casino at about 2 a.m., following a series of incidents in the city.
Earlier, the male had been involved in a dispute at a residence in Niagara Falls. The dispute resulted in the male assaulting a male and female with a weapon and fleeing in his vehicle. The male then attended another residence in the North end of Niagara Falls where he collided with a vehicle in the driveway. The male then fled that residence in his vehicle.
Police encountered the vehicle as it drove through the North end of Niagara Falls. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the male continued driving. Due to the serious nature of the earlier events, officers continued to follow the vehicle as the male refused to stop for police.
The pursuit ended when the male intentionally drove into the front entrance of the Fallsview Casino.
Harold Howard was the man who stopped Royce Gracie’s undefeated streak back in 1994 at UFC 3. Mind you he didn’t actually BEAT Royce … the Gracie fighter threw in the towel before the contest started due to the beating Royce took at the hands of Kimo earlier that night. But the by earned Harold a spot in the UFC 3 tournament finals, where he was pasted by Steve Jennum. He also has the distinction of being the first Canadian to fight in the UFC. Past that, Harold is best known for his epic mullet and wearing a wife beater in his fights.
