If you were looking forward to an all night Affliction bash over in the UK, I’ve got some bad news for you: Bravo has indefinitely delayed it’s broadcasting of the show for mysterious reasons:
“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be unable to show Affliction: Banned this Sunday at 9pm. Not our decision, not theirs, but I can’t say any more than that.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay. We are hoping to show the event as soon as we can but know it’s not ideal.
Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted as to what’s happening. Thank you for your patience and support.”
There’s been all sorts of speculation as to what happened, from the UK version of The Fight Network causing problems to the UFC throwing it’s weight around. But if The Fight Network has anything to do with it, they’re certainly playing coy and I doubt Bravo would be too interested in bending over for the UFC after being ditched for Setanta Sports earlier this year. Maybe this is karmic retribution for UK fans getting all their MMA on premium channels instead of having to dish out the big bucks for PPVs? And here I thought sub-par UFC lineups was punishment enough.
