Nick Diaz get fucked over by THE MAN

Sometimes stories just write themselves: Nick Diaz gets taken off the EliteXC / Strikeforce card for ‘unknown reasons’, and everyone has a good laugh joking about it being weed related. And then we find out that IT WAS WEED RELATED. And we all laugh our fucking asses off about that and call Diaz a stupid stoner. But now the facts are coming out and the story looks more like another chapter in the California State Athletic Commission’s ‘Wheel of Time” length book on being total fucking retards:
Showing little restraint, Shaw contradicted CSAC executive director Armando Garcia’s assertion that Diaz’s medicals were late. According to Shaw, Diaz was the first fighter on the card to have his medicals submitted. Shaw said that Diaz was apparently cleared either two or two and a half weeks ago.
In taking Diaz off the card, Shaw said that Garcia had “overstepped” his bounds. He stated that Diaz was never tested for drugs and never tested positive. Shaw added that Garcia is not currently taking his calls.
Diaz himself made an appearance and addressed the fighters and media. He issued a heartfelt apology for not being able to appear as scheduled. He clarified his position by indicating that he was only being honest with the commission, and that he has legal permission to use the marijuana to treat Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder conditions. Diaz informed the audience that it was his intent to test clean.
That last sentence is the most important one: Nick Diaz was ready to pass his drug test. It blows my mind that the CSAC would decide without any debate to just disallow the fight from happening. And it blows my mind that the CSAC is still able to blow my mind after all the other stupid shit they’ve done. So kudos to them for once again upping the ante on this one.
Just for clarification here, because I’m sure there will be a hearty debate in the comments section between smokers and non-smokers … I’m not a big pot smoker (except when on Lifer’s couch watching Andy Hug axe kick a bitch). But you really have to feel for Nick Diaz right now … the dude is like Pot Jesus, getting crucified for the sins of all stoners (appropriate timing too, huh?).
I think it’s kinda stupid that pot is on the banned substance list, but since it is I’ll play along and say okay, if you get caught then slap on the wrist and who cares. But to go to this extent to ‘catch’ and punish Nick Diaz is absolutely retarded. The CSAC is no stranger to just making shit up as they go along, and as usual they’re doing a terrible job of it. In this case, it looks like Armando Garcia just looked at the paperwork Diaz submitted way back on March 10th and made the decision that Diaz’s prescription was bullshit. Since he’s the GOD OF MMA in California, he decided he would not stand for it. Asshole.
