Well this is interesting: Gegard Mousasi has just ditched M-1 Global as his management:
“After careful consideration, I have decided that it is in my best interest to part ways with M-1 Global,” Mousasi wrote in the e-mail. “During the time I spent under their wing, M-1 Global, as a promoter and management company, allowed me to achieve many great things. I appreciate all they have done for me.”
“My management is being taken care of by someone close to me,”
You may remember back in August after Gegard signed with Strikeforce, there was a big clusterfuck when he found out M-1 had lied and told him the UFC had offered him a shitty contract. At the time he ended up gritting his teeth and dealing with the situation, but you’d have to be an idiot to think that wasn’t the start of a rift between himself and his slightly sketchy Russian management.
Now for the extra awesome part in all this: Mousasi has one fight left on his contract with Strikeforce. I think we all know where this is going.
