Mike Kyle gets shown what real MMA is all about

Honestly, I thought there was no way Mike Kyle fighting on the EliteXC/Strikeforce card could turn out well. While a lot of people were probably rooting for Kyle to get beat up or hurt, I didn’t want to give in to that kind of negative karma. And of course I also didn’t want to see Kyle win. So how the fuck was I going to come out of watching that fight feeling anything but pissed off at EliteXC for booking it?

Well, things did turn out about as well as they could … Kyle got subbed like a bitch 45 seconds into his fight. The thing I love about that is that he got beaten by skill and technique and composure, which represents the polar opposite of what he’s all about. His showing was about as miserable as they come, so hopefully he won’t be reappearing on any cards I have to watch because of my ‘job’ covering MMA.

That being said, it still bugs the fuck out of me that the CSAC gave this guy his license back, and that EliteXC booked him.

who’s the guy that Kyle fought that got him suspended? I’d like to see the video to see what happened.

That was one of the sloppiest transitions I have seen into an armbar ‘EVER’ you really are a Kyle hater…lol

Either way, Kyle was completely humiliated by Wayne Cole, kudos to Cole.

Yeah, that arm bar looked like something I would pull off on a friend.

    Karma – 1
    Mike Kyle – 0

  • Pfft, you guy are hating on that armbar. It wasn’t textbook, but Cole pulled it out, went for it, and nailed him. I’ll take that over some guy swinging his legs around the entire fight waiting for something to happen.

I despise Mike Kyle, but I still don’t understand why he takes so much heat for actions while guys like Takanori Gomi and Kid Yamamoto are given a free pass for their equally egregious actions.

  • Lifer says:

when did gomi repeatedly strike a downed opponent to the tune of facial surgery and career ending injury? back up yo shit.

  • danaunclefesterwhite says:

Yeah. Gomi did hit Azeredo after the bell but Azeredo didn’t get fucked up like Bryan Olsen (?) did. Olsen had to get screws and plates for his face and at the time (now we know that he’s still fighting) he wasn’t sure if his career would end or not. Gomi is a piece of shit attitude-wise and so is KID but Mike Kyle is worse for what he did. Unfortunately if you’re Japanese, DSE/FEG will likely bail you (Aoki I’m looking at you) out or let you you get away with shit and that sucks. They need a proper sanctioning body over in Japan because all the bullshit DSE/FEG pulls hurts the legitimacy of the sport. And I say this as a big PRIDE fan. You won’t get an argument out of me. Gomi and KID are thugs and Gomi’s cockiness costs him fights.

Yeah textbook armbar or not whatever worlks to get your hand raised is ok by me. Looks even worst on Kyle that he got caught

  • Lifer says:

gomi had every right to beat azaredo on the ground and flail around like he was trying to kill him. he’s GOMI.

  • RL Dookiefuck is RIGHT! says:

the fact that it was so sloppy makes it even worse for Kyle.

Cole came in four pounds from being in a lighter division, is a totally one dimensional wrestler, was giving up a retarded amount of reach, and yet he still managed to totally embarrass Kyle in under a minute.

That armbar was the slowest transition ever. I thought it was slomo. Like first lesson at bjj beginners class -slow. Anyway, nice to see Kyle go down. Even better that it was the crappiest armbar ever, just shows you how shitty Kyle is.
