Melvin Guillard misses weight, must buy Donald Cerrone a first class vacation

Weigh-ins went down yesterday for UFC 150 and just about everyone on the card made their target weight. The only fighter to miss his mark was Melvin “Jiu Jitsu Aint Shit” Guillard.

In the video you can actually see Mel approach the scale thinking light, yet knowing deep down it was a hopeless cause. He weighed in at 157.5 pounds, and rather than go desiccate himself in the sauna, Mel conceded and will fork over an undisclosed percentage of his fight purse to Cerrone.

These fines are usually in the 20% range, but we won’t know for sure until it’s announced by the Colorado State Boxing Commission. Assuming it is 20%, with Mel’s 36/36 contract he’d have to fork over $14,400 if he wins, and $7,200 is he losses. Either way, that sucks for him. But that’s the yin yang of the world, son. One man’s hardship is another man’s fortune. Mel’s loss is Cerrone’s Aruba vacation, first class, bought and paid for by a mere 1.5 pounds of muscle mass.

Im reading from many different training partners that Cerrone washed the floor with Melvin every time they sparred.

I saw cowboy tell a reporter that when Melvin is pushed he always falls back to old habbits. He says he never defended well against leg kicks so he will kick the shit out of his legs.

What happens in the gym doesnt always translate to what happens in the cage (just ask Mike Pyle). Will Cerrone take Melvin for granted? Will Melvin take the fight to cowboy? Will this site ever work normally again?

Who knows but i cant wait!
