Mayhem vs some guy

Sean Salmon justified the UFC’s exclusivity clause and got himself medically suspended from fighting Jason Mayhem Miller at next month’s HDNet show. That’s twice now that he’s been dropped from a HDNet card, although I gotta say he dodged a bullet by not having to fight Miller. If Jorge Santiago gave him fits, Mayhem Miller would have buried him for sure.

So who’s this Tim Kennedy guy replacing him? Some dude fighting on the IFL Grand Prix undercard? Kinda underwhelming, huh. Sorta … let me explain:

Tim Kennedy is one of four unavenged losses for Mayhem … the others come at the hands of Chael Sonnen, Georges St Pierre, and Frank Trigg. With a rematch against Frank Trigg seeming in the cards, I guess it seemed like a good idea for Mayhem to request Kennedy, even though no one gives a shit who Kennedy is or cares about a rematch between the two of them.

  • hankd says:

    Mayhem did NOT request Kennedy…

  • Adam says:

Just for the record, The Fight Network stole this story from us earlier today.

Kennedy is a legitimate badass. Army Ranger. Special Forces. Only training MMA between Army missions. Bronze star in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

This is no easy task for Miller.

  • Swedish guy says:

ROFLMAO, wtf has gay army guy terms have to do with MMA? Plus ONLY training between missions, was that supposed to sound like a good thing?

  • According to Mezger, Miller specifically asked for this rematch.
I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. I just link. That’s what good fightlinkers do.

  • Xavier says:

    LOL, stole a story. Moron.

  • Adam says:

The guy hasn’t lost a fight in six years. I’m just saying don’t think for a second that Miller will just walk through him. Tim is a legit prospect and has beaten MayheM via decision after fighting two other guys in the same night.

I didn’t mean to make it sound like him training in between missions is a good thing, just saying he’s a beast and he doesn’t even train full time.

  • Adam says:

Fight Network lifted original content from us. Is that better than saying they “stole the story?” Those fools are hacks.

  • Xavier says:

Ha, they “stole the story.” Yes, you own the news of Mayhem fighting some guy, yes you do! *pats on the head*

    Oh, your original content!

  • Joe Son says:

So because you’ve never heard of Tim Kennedy, he’s nobody? Look at the guy’s record. He’s got one loss, in his first pro fight, via cut against Scott Smith. The guy’s an Army Ranger and a total monster in the ring. But why should you bother to know what you’re talking about before you wax moronic?

  • Thomas says:

Why does Army Ranger = good fighter?

  • Joe Son says:

Are those the only two words of my post that you read? Look him up. He’s legit. Being an Army Ranger doesn’t necessarily make him a good fighter, but it doesn’t hurt either.

  • Thomas says:

I know a few Rangers, tough guys. He should have the edge in mental Toughness. I’m interested to see if he has the “tools” you need to have to do well in MMA

  • ZoieGma says:

Xavier’s your typical, free-loading MMA fan who takes all the news he can find — and then has the audacity to take shots at the people who work their asses off to get it for him.

I’d love to see how he’d react to someone coming into his place of employment and stealing his work. It’d be like the fry guy taking credit for his freshly cooked McNuggets. You know he’d throw a fit when people laugh at him for complaining about it.

  • Xavier says:

Haha, yeah, Adam and Sam work their asses off blogging away. Oh boy.

People steal my work all the time. You just do more work. It’s a compliment, really, because it shows that you’re ahead of the fucking curve. You just keep staying ahead of the curve and if you do that? People will follow. Bitching that someone reported “news” first reported somewhere else is baby-style-first-grade-immature. Grow the fuck up and discover real problems.

Then again, Craplin is so sensitive over the slightest criticism that I doubt growing up will ever happen.

  • Yeah … we looked up Kennedy before we wrote the post, and we’re still not impressed.

  • hankd says:

Guy may have said it, but it’s not actually the case…

  • Evan says:

    hankd is correct

    Mayhem did not request Kennedy

  • RLTW says:

Not only did Mayhem not request the fight, he tried to avoid it.

He’s about to get spanked. Tim is a monster. BJJ Black Belt. World Class wrestler. National Level Kickboxer who has been training with Liddell since he was 13, and he has been training with World Class Boxers all year. The only reason people don’t know about him is because of his day job.

I love Miller. Phenomenal fighter and exciting as hell. Unfortunately, accepting this fight was like buying a one way ticket on the beatdown express…
