Josh Gross walks us through EliteXC’s decision making process in picking an opponent for Kimbo Slice, and the last name standing is one you might have forgotten: Sean Gannon, the cop who introduced Slice to the concept of muay thai in one of his infamous Youtube scuffles.
We’ve already done about all the eye rolling we can do in regards to EliteXC’s slanted booking practices. At this point nothing surprises me, except perhaps the possibility that EliteXC would actually give Kimbo a credible opponent. I’m not saying that Gannon has no chance of beating Slice. I’m just saying he’s being picked because EliteXC is banking on him losing, which is a fucking pathetic way to book fights.
