Is there a conspiracy to make Affliction look bad?

Listening to Tom Atencio, you'd have to imagine there's a big media conspiracy to sink Affliction with bullshit news stories. At yesterday's press conference, Tom denied half the reports coming from various reputable sources:
- that they sold last-second tickets for 40 bucks
- that they bought up a significant amount of tickets themselves
- that the October 11th date was to avoid being counter-programmed by the UFC
- that they've asked some fighters to take pay cuts in exchange for easier fights
He also wants you to believe that PPV numbers were well over 100k, dispite estimates that the show only sold between 50k-85k. So what do you think ... is everyone just out to get Affliction with these baseless accusations or is Atencio full of shit? Mind you, it's always a promoter's job to be full of a certain amount of shit (see: Dana regarding Fedor, Gary regarding everything), but Tom's is getting pretty full pretty quick.
