ICON on the Fight Network this weekend

There’s certainly no shortage of good fights going on this weekend – the problem now is figuring out how to watch some of it. Unless you’ve got some keen HAX0R skills with a satellite dish, you ain’t gonna be catching DREAM.1 through any pseudo-legal means. And as it stood, the only way to catch the ICON card with Phil Baroni and Kala Kolohe Hose was to (yuck) use ProElite.com. Or live in Hawaii. And who the fuck wants to live there????
But now it looks like The Fight Network is going to be carrying the ICON card live on Saturday night at 10pm! So you can add that shit to the list of things us Canadians get that you Americans don’t, somewhere between ‘Healthcare’ and ‘No Crime’.

Well you guys don’t have dignity up there in America Jr.

do not insult the Island Gods.

Did you see the nicknames of some of these guys?

    Jeremy “Half-Man Half-Amazing” Williams
    Bronson “The Chosen One” Pieper

How could Pieper not go with the nickname “Rowdy.”

    C’mon.

Who says we don’t have insurance. I have health, dental, life, & even my dog has insurance. So sit on that 😀 😛

There’s only three things you Canadians have produced that don’t suck…RUSH, Hockey, & Elisha Cuthbert.

It’s called bittorent. 😀 Even if it’s not legal, who cares. FEG doesn’t give a shit. Their market is intended for Japan only so it doesn’t hurt them at all if some North Americans watch their shit for free on the internets. This only gives them more exposure.

As for Icon Sport, I don’t have Fight Network so I’m going to have to watch the stream.

Nice! The Fight Network is the best monthly $2.99 investment I’ve ever made! Actually, it’s probably the only $2.99 investment I’ve ever made…

As for Dream 1 and bittorent, do I just do a dream 1 bittorent search Saturday night?

  • Lifer says:

durrr what r bittorrent! tell plz!!!#

  • There probably won’t be a torrent floating around until sunday or so. We’ll post in the forums when we find one

Yeah I’m sure there won’t be a torrent floating around until Sunday. For WVR Sengoku, I had to wait until the day after it aired in Japan. For the entire broadcast (with entrances and everything included), I had to wait until three days after it aired (which isn’t so bad but for PRIDE/Zombie PRIDE, pageantry is part of what makes it awesome. :D)

HDNet apparently is going to be airing DREAM 1 at 1 week delay but there’s no way I’m waiting for that shit. But HDNet is going to air every DREAM event after that on a same-day tape delay, which is awesome. I still question how effective HDNet’s focus on MMA coverage is going to pay off though. When most of your target audience (internet MMA fans) doesn’t have HDNet (as evident in that poll), why invest so much into MMA? Cuban is banking on overtaking Showtime as the #2 premium TV channel but I don’t see it happening. HBO and Showtime have a lot of name recognition that HDNet can’t compete with at the moment. HDNet is banking on the future with HD but HBO and Showtime have both SD AND HD programming anyway.
