Haywire clips hit the interwebs

The MMA world, nay the entire world, will finally get to bask in the sheer awesomeness of Gina Carano’s surely Oscar-worthy performance in “Haywire” when it hits screens next Friday (Wednesday in the UK).  I say “finally” because it was filmed in early 2010, and then there were reshoots a year later, neither of which is an encouraging sign even from a director as good as Steven Soderbergh.  Anyway, dig the preview clip of the film’s first 5 minutes above.  But it’s “intended for mature audiences”, so if you’re a sensitive and impressionable underage child just put in that you were born in 1900 and it’ll be good to go, kay?

A few things may occur to you while watching this clip.  One: any criticisms you’ve heard about Channing Tatum’s acting talents are probably well-deserved.  Two: Gina likes biting her lip almost as much as

I have my interview with Gina in two hours and I saw a screening of the movie last night. You all will have to wait until tmrw for the review and the “DubbingGate” controversy revealed.

  • DJ ThunderElbows says:

Are you saying you’re asking her questions directly regarding this, or you’ll convey how much of this turrible dubbing was in there?

  • matthewpolly says:

i’ll ask her directly. if she calls.

  • fightlinker says:

uh oh. “Don’t call us, we’ll call you”

  • iamphoenix says:

Just show up at her house and try to recreate these scenes exactly without her knowing. You play ginas part. Shes c tates.

  • Mixed Martial Adam says:

From the clip that I watched it’s a mix of dubbing and her location audio – but mostly dubbing which is pretty evident from the contrast between Tatum and Carano. However, I am almost 100% sure it’s her voice or if not it’s a very convincing voice artist mimicking her.

I work as a location sound mixer and have a pretty good ear for these things, I’d be shocked if it was another person dubbing her lines.

  • fightlinker says:

yeah maybe they put her voice through the Bane treatment lol

  • matthewpolly says:

So I asked her directly, she answered. When the interview goes up, you will know [cliffhanger].

  • kwagnuth says:

Either way it is better than when they dubbed Georges. That was fuckin terrible.

  • fightlinker says:

    and randy

  • agentsmith says:

You mean when GSP was in that Hector Echinacea movie as “Guy Who Carries Sandwich Through Huge Fucking House”?
