Georges’ loss is Swick’s win

While I’m sure Dana White is hoping GSP cleans BJ Penn’s clock and sends him back to the lightweight division ‘where he belongs’, that doesn’t mean the UFC isn’t making some contingency plans in case BJ does win:

Reports from several sources close to the organization suggest that should St. Pierre defeat Penn for a second time and retain his 170-pound title, the French-Canadian would make his next defense against Alves. But should 155-pound champion Penn prove victorious in his quest to become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously, it is believed his next bout would be a lightweight title defense. Should that scenario play out, both Alves and Swick have expressed their desire to stay busy while waiting on Penn to return to the welterweight division.

So there you go … Swick vs Alves if BJ wins. I’d speculate, but that’s a pretty big ‘if’. I mean … yes, there’s a chance BJ will win, but I haven’t been able to find any other blogger out there with the balls to bet on BJ.
