I’d say the average high level gamer makes 150,000 a year not counting sponserships. Maybe more?
One tourny offers 85,000 grand to win, which has a few seasons a year.
Plus there are all kinds of smaller tournaments.
Also I’d say that some U.S. tournaments get more spectators than some strikeforce/bellator shows.November 30, 2010 at 5:54 pm #103829
That “average” is probably of the top five earners.November 30, 2010 at 6:03 pm #103832

PS: Please compare the # of video game players to the number of “competitive gamers”. Then compare that retardedly infinitesimal # to amount of people training MMA for kicks vs pro fighters.

Programmers make a lot of money. What’s the big deal?
Ohhh … Pro Gamers – I see what you mean.
So guys who put their health on the line by sitting on their asses developing carpal and bed sores for the pleasure of overcoming virtual enemies make more than guys who sacrifice their health for the pleasure of beating up actual humans?
Makes sense.November 30, 2010 at 10:05 pm #103872
