as some have speculated, zuffa may actually own MMA.tv, the largest and most important source of mma news in the world. it would certainly make sense, as mma.tv has become more and more a ufc site and less a martial arts site over the years, especially with the new policy of instant deletion of anything dana or zuffa critical. some new evidence which has recently surfaced seems to point to the conclusion that zuffa does, in fact, now own mma.tv, but attempts to conceal this fact for the purpose of using mma.tv as an “unbiased” dissemination tool. i’m no interwebs expert, but i found this to be intriguing, and though you might find it interesting also?

again, this is all speculation, and there could very well be a good explanation for this. i recall when zuffa launched TUF, they created a message board solely for TUF. the layout of this message board was nearly identical to the layout of the UG at the time, leading me to believe that whoever created and maintained the UG was hired to create and maintain the zuffa site also. this might explain why ufc.com and supposed unbiased mma news source mma.tv could have identical domain server addresses.

First, those are only nameservers.  They are hosted by the same company, just like Brazzillianfartporn.org could be hosted on the same site as the christiansciencemonitor.com.

Forum software could simply be any of the off-the-shelf solutions any web dev in the world would start with.  No one is likely to write their own forum system anymore, regardless of what they look like on the surface.

This does not mean they don’t own MMA.tv, but your ‘recently surfaced evidence’ is evidence of nothing.

“First, those are only nameservers. They are hosted by the same company, just like Brazzillianfartporn.org could be hosted on the same site as the christiansciencemonitor.com.’

i see. so what are the chances that these two different websites owned by different people have the same “name servers” in order then? is that common? what percentage of websites on the internet, from your knowledge, would have the same three name servers like that?

“Forum software could simply be any of the off-the-shelf solutions any web dev in the world would start with. No one is likely to write their own forum system anymore, regardless of what they look like on the surface.”

or it could be that the same web developer who created that TUF site created MMA.tv also, correct? is that plausible?

Yes it is.  They might be hosted by the same company, which would use those three servers for the the hundreds or thousands of sites they host.

It’s possible, but not proven by your claim as to their similarity.  Dev companies don’t really make forum software anymore, they create or tweak templates/themes for existing software to match a target market or client specs.  This is actually a key part of web design and development these days: customizing templates and themes for existing CMSs.

Is it that hard to trace which company owns what? Should that not be public information? If not, I need to go tenting at my local occupy wall street thingy.

No because I dont know how the internets work. I am just starting to get comfortable with my Windows by Microsoft. Took me a while to upgrade to Miscrosoft Windows Vista from the Windows 2000. It was working fine but now its very different. I also am getting good with the Photoshopping as some of you have seen.
