If you're still tearing out your hair and screaming "WHY, MMA GODS? WHY???" over the recent Brock Lesnar flu news and that Machida / Shogun decision thing, then do we have the show for you. We dish on Brock's sickness and why it's good news for the UFC ... but not good enough for them to fake it. Jake and I also rewatched Lyoto Machida vs Shogun Rua to make sure I hadn't pulled a Cecil Peoples of my own the first time I scored it.
Speaking of Peoples, we dissect his explanation of the call and take a look over the official judging criteria to see how it stacks up. Last but not least, we got around to watching the UFC 104 prelim show, so we got shit to talk about regarding Stefan Struve, Pat Barry, and Ryan Bader. All this in one hour, plus a bunch of perverted shit about dicks and pussies thrown in for good measure.
you guys bring up a great point about interpretation of control. In the Chris Lytle - Matt Serra fight, one judge called the fight 30-27 lytle seemingly due to octagon control in stuffing so many shitty clinch takedown attempts. The other 2 judges called it 30-27 serra seemingly by pushing the action, albeit ineffectively and just leaning on lytle the whole fight. Obviously something is wrong when the judges are 6 points apart in 3 round fight. The media card and the worst judges card in the dirrell-froch fight were only 5 points apart and that was 12 rds of classic english hometown judging.
i just heard the podcast and really enjoyed it, what really bothered be is when you guys talked about Chris Tuchscherer, the disgusting heavy weight (which i totally agree with btw) you didn't remember who he fought, or maybe you missed it since it was a prelim on 102, i urge you to watch it, anyone who hasn't, one of the funniest spectacles inside the octagon, right of the bat Chris gets a shot to the balls from Napao. it must have been as strong as the kick gonzaga delivered to cro cops head cause the next ten minutes of tape is Chris vomiting into a bucket. and, they continued the fight anyway only to have Chris molested.
good times
Yeah I remember seeing that fight ... serious nut trauma. We watch everything, my brain deletes inconsequential never going nowhere fighters from my memory pretty quickly. Glad you liked it!
