July is here, and you know what that means. It's time for another mailbag radio show! As usual, submit your questions in the comments section of this post and we'll do our best to answer them all. Cutoff time is 5PM EST so do it now before it's too late! All those of you who've been going through Low Blow withdrawl are welcome to bring up any of the shit we missed over the past week and a half.
1. Who would you rather fight. Tom Atencio or Dana White?
2. You said on the Happy Hour that you guys are doing better than expected, in terms of this career path being viable, so congrats! But with the site getting a lot less attention from you guys, the forums being virtually dead and any news that is posted, being on average, three days behind, what is the key to your success?
3. Does my star membership allow me sanctuary at your house if I find myself lost in Montreal?
Why don't you set up an epic UFC 100 bet with Cagepotato. I miss you losing bets and being ridiculed to ridiculous stuff. This would be a perfect event to have one. Loser takes 100 swigs of Jack? Eats 100 jalapenos?
1. Instead of trying to figure out a way to get Wanderlei Silva a title shot against Anderson Silva since there's no guarantee that he could work his way up to it, why doesn't the UFC just have Anderson face him at a catch weight (similar to the Rich Franklin fight) so it would be a non-title fight and then Middleweight contendership wouldn't matter? Wouldn't we want to see Silva vs. Silva before we see Silva vs. Okami, Henderson II, or Marquardt II?
2. UFC 101 has Penn/Florian, 102 has Noguiera/Couture, and 104 has Machida/Shogun. Right now the only big fights rumored for 103 are Trigg/Koscheck and Swick/Kampmann. Assuming the UFC won't want the Heavyweight and Welterweight champs to fight with such a quick 2 month turnover after 100, what non-title fight would you want to see that would be worthwhile as the main event?
do you guys think Fedor can truly cement his legacy without ever once stepping foot in the octagon? especially after croflop was supposed to be such a destroyer and he basically ended up tucking his tail between his legs and running back to the land of the rising sun. also do you believe the mma conspiracy theorists out there who say that the Tim Silvia boxing match and even the pitbulls recent loss to the grim were set up to take away some credability from fedors wins over them.I mean like Dana had one of his lackeys go out and give these guys a big pay day just to get ko'd? sorry that was kinda longer than I meant it to be.which brings me to the 3rd question do u guys believe fighters take dives here in the states for cash money???
Which do you think has a greater chance of happening at UFC 100?: Fedor entering the octagon at the end of Lesnar/Mir to challenge the winner in one-fight extravaganza, or super-Republican Chael Sonnen professing his forbidden love for Dana White?
Also, do you believe that someone high up at Zuffa actually thought those creepy UFC action figures looked cool?
1. If most professional athletes can turn potential success in their sport into get of jail free cards/reduced sentencing, which dirty foreigner did Kazuo "Grabaka Hit n Run Man" promise to fight to get such a light sentence after injuring a cop? I'm thinking Misaki's gonna run in and soccer kick Joe Warren in the face, sealing the rumored Sengoku/DREAM cross promotion to keep Japanese MMA alive.
2. Which fighter do you want to see get illegaly soccer kicked in the face and who would do the kicking?
3. In light of GSP's new Gatorade spread and Brock Lesnar threatening to fill the general public with bullets, which fighters do you think could make great shills for what products?
1. Which prospect outside of the UFC are you most excited about?
2. How do you think the Nick Diaz/Joe Riggs rematch will go down?
3. Who deserves the next title shot at WW? The winner of Mike Swick/Martin Kampman or Jon Fitch/Paulo Thiago? Or will it be time for GSP to move up to MW after he kills Thiago Alves?
Which MMA fighter do you feel the most sympathy for?
Which mma organization outside of the UFC do you want to succeed more than any others.
Either of those questions would be nice if they got answered, I wish I hadn't smoked weed before seeing this or else I could probably think of something better.
Are you still playing UFC 2009 Undisputed? As polished as the fighting system feels, I feel like everything else was so rushed and poorly thought-out that the game has no reply value.
I love the idea of WEC on pay-per-view because i can never fucking watch them due to the whole versus network deal ( I'm canadian ). But i fear the novelty would wear off because a UFC and a WEC event together would create a cable bill that would put me out in the street without food. Is there a way for MMA fans in canada to enjoy both worlds without forking the cash over for two events?
