I hate quoting the Sun because they have the integrity of a crack addicted whore, but this news about Forrest Griffin seems like pretty important information that you guys would like to know. Just be aware that there's a 15% chance that Forrest will pop up in the next day or two calling it total bullshit:
FORREST GRIFFIN could be sidelined for the rest of the year after sources revealed his hand injury is worse than first feared.

The former light heavyweight champion broke his fist during his unsuccessful title defence against Rashad Evans last month and has since had pins inserted into his hand to help the healing process.

Griffin was originally set to be out of action until May but industry insiders told SunSport he will not be back inside the Octagon until Autumn at the earliest.

This isn't the first time Mr Glasshands has bunged up his stupid glass hands. He busted one up against Quinton Jackson, which kept him out of the cage until his followup fight with Rashad Evans. And now Griffin is starting to get Fedor-like with his consistant longterm hand injuries. Maybe he needs to drink more milk or get someone new to tape his hands?

hey! i know some very honorable crackwhores.
The Notorious C.R.S.
The difference is you know why Fedor breaks bones because of his impact. But you're shocked Forrest was hitting hard enough to break anything since nobody is impressed with his punching power.
godzillad
Rich Franklin (or Rich Hamilton) used to be the barometer for broken hands, I guess it's Forrest now.
The Notorious C.R.S.
But Franklin has KO power so we know why he broke his hand unlike Forrest who has pretty weak strikes. Franklin gave Loiseau one of the worst beatdowns in modern UFC history so I wasn't surprised when he went in for surgery. I'm confused on what Forrest did to break his hand against Rashad. I can't think of any impressive shots he landed.
godzillad
That flurry against the cage in round two that scared Rashad into taunting.
Captain
Agreed. Forrest's pitter pats don't have the same kind of impact as shots you've seen from Fedor and Franklin, so it should be a bit disconcerting for him. Maybe it was just a bad angle that caught one of the bones at a weak stress point.
MacDaddy
He should just learn to use his fucking chi blast
greenseed
I think hes breaking his hand so much because hes not following his primate roots and using strictly gorilla hammer fists
Reverend Clint
maybe its from repeated medium strikes as opposed to one big hit. like a repetitive stress injury.
godzillad
"Forrest! DO THE MONKEY FACE!"

It's kinda funny, Franklin used to be derided for not having any power in his punches, even after the Quarry KO
Reverend Clint
there is a difference between power and knowing where and how to hit someone to ko them.
hass100
ha ha the sun newspaper certainly cannot be trusted for credible information, the chicks make up for it though.
garth
other than the quarry KO, franklin doesn't display one-punch power. but he really hasn't needed to against anyone but spider, and that was just not going to go well for him no matter what he did.
FiveBoltMain
I doubt that he's done for the year. Monkey man will fight one more time before the year is done.
