Here's judo gold medalist and great Japanese hope Satoshi Ishii turning his back on the Japanese MMA scene to go party it up in Las Vegas for UFC 92 and New Year's Eve. The UFC's future in Japan basically rests on this guy's shoulders right now. If he signs with them (which he says will probably happen next time he goes over), then we could be seeing the promotion's return to the land of the rising sun sometime mid-2009. Of course, that's all assuming this signage isn't just smoke and mirrors.

I met Joe Silva in the Philadelphia airport yesterday. I just kept staring at him trying to figure out how I recognized him, until I noticed one of the girls he was with was wearing a TapouT sweatshirt, and it clicked. He's quite short.

So UFC japan rests on this kids shoulders? Man, a rookie in mMA who has no stand up, no ground game and just know some judo chops? serious? Todays UFC fighters are soo well rounded that being a master in one field will easily, EASILY, make your reign in the ufc very short. Seriously, why him? He will lose his first match, since hes a heavyweight, i highly doubt he can contend with the lights of dirty 'eddy sanches.' You know, the one who likes girthy cucumbers? Yep, he will be easily taken out by mr beatle juice look-alike, when jap dude has his first pro fight in UFC.

Maybe i am looking far into this, maybe he doesnt want to fight in the ufc, but BE in it? UFC always need translators, could he possibly translate for the likes of Okami, yoshida or gono? Hmmm.. ESL is a great program i hear.

But on all honesty, get this retard go the nearest japanese nap capsule so that he can commit senpaku, in order the rest of the relevant world to go on. Everyone wants to fight in the UFC, but they earned it, either from fighting small organizations or creating/generating name revenue so taht Zuffa can bank their little piggies. What can this guy do? His pro fight should be in japan, but all honesty, if he does fight in the UFC, he will not bring the crowd like a sakuraba, or an aoki, or a fedor, because he TURNED HIS BACK ON HIS COUNTRY. He will not be a hero as he so believes he is. He will be another washed up japanese fighter who is 2nd teir, b level, sup bar skill taht wishes hes at the elite level.

To be fair, i say fuck him. And fuck his mom too, japanese girls loves big black girthy cock.. He kinda looks korean, which would create DRAMMMMAA!!!

WAR OKAMI!!!

He seems like a nice kid. I kind of feel bad that its about a 9 out of 10 that he's gonna get the shit kicked out of him .

I still think its a ploy for him to raise his value and with eather FEG AKA K1/Dreams or WVR Sengoku. Eather org in Japan would sign him for more then what the UFC will and mtch him up against lessor competition. It would make sence for the UFC to sign him if they want to try to make a run into Japan but if they don't there are still other fighters out there that could help that push like Yoshihiro Akiyama who would make the most sence not only is he a huge in Japan with fans but he is also a top 10 MW and a future opponent for A Silva.Zuffa could even wait until Gomi becomes a free agent again and try to steal him away form Sengoku. So It really does not rest all on his shoulders for Zuffas future push into Japan but it is there best bet if they want to try to crack that market.

Ploy to get more money, check. Would be better off with Sengoku or Dream, check. Other, non-rookie Japanese fighters the UFC could sign, check. Yeah, I absolutely agree with Shocbomb on all counts.

What I would like to add is that the only Japanese dude I'd really love to see in the UFC is Shinya Aoki. I want, want, want Aoki vs. Penn!! But hell, even a warm-up like Aoki vs. Nate Diaz would be pretty damn cool...

DailySports , a one of semi-major sports paper reported that ishii is going to be on TUF, it was Danas proposal, they say.

Judo ka of kokushi kan has no skills on the ground? very funny. say that in Kokushi kan Dojo, they will show u the real hell with smile on their face. Ishii used very dangerous choke hold in last olympics. it was too quick, Even ref couldnt notice and called "mate" at the same time the oppornent tapped.

it was Okuri eri jime or sometimes called Tokei jime i think .yes those are chokes with Gi, but that quickness and reading the timing , hit point was perfect.

Talking about IShii on TUF , i would say its still less than 20% to be true, coz the report was from Daily Sports. most of stories of Japanese fighters in UFC are always unclear till it become official. How manty times Dana called out Gomi, Mach, Kid Yamamoto? Mach even attended to post fight press conference once. None of them are in UFC yet.
