Hot on the heels of the news that Affliction is talking to Brett Rogers as a possible opponent from Josh Barnett, we have an interview between Aleks Emelianenko and Sports.ru where Aleks claims he's next for Barnett: - When and where you do plan to conduct the following battle? So it's interesting that everyone is thinking about Aleks for this match ... everyone except Affliction who are thinking Brett Rogers. What's up with that? More 'paperwork issues' for Fedor's lil bro?  not happening, The CSAC stated that he would probably never be eligble for a licence and Fedor confirmed in an interview with fightline.com that there is a problem with Alexs' blood. As usual, he'd rather take the easiest fight he can get away with since it wont have any adverse effect on his svengali like hold over the imaginations of mma journalists and fanboys who will still sing his praises as a top HW, just like they have been for almost a decade, even if he fights rosie o' donnell .  robthom great point It has always amazed me over the last few years and I still don't know how Alex gets into some Top 10 HW lists on credible MMA websites non the less ? Who has he ever beaten other then cans besides a fat out of shape Sergei Kharitonov ? I don't know how one win over Kharitonov back in the beggining of 06 almost 3 years ago now gets you into the top 10. A large number of those votes come becasue of his last name ! I hope he does get cleared to fight and the whole Hep B or C was a rumor becasue I can tell you this I would rather see Alex -vs- Josh then Brett Rogers in the end. I hope to god he doesn't have it because he'd a threat to every single fighter he's fought so far and will fight against outside the US in the future.At first I thought it was easy to catch Hep B like sharing plates/glasses/etc. so I figured that there would be something odd with Aleks having it and Fedor not. But apparently there has to be blood-to-blood contact, just like HIV. So that would make sense. If he does have Hep, I take it that Aleks probably got it from a tattoo done with a dirty needle. Doesn't Aleks have a wife though? That would mean that she'd likely be infected too since Hep B can transmit through sex like HIV. If the storys are True about Alex spending a few years of his life in prisson then Alex probably got it from the prison cell community homemade prison tatto gun the whole cell block used to do there tats. A friend of mine got Hep C that same way. When he was younger he did a few prison bids upstate and got a handful of prison tats done while inside.Mind you now the ink they use for the tats is not the most sanitary substance to begin with its a mixture of pen Ink Black boot rubber and piss-Yikes- !!! After he got his life together a few years down the raod after prison got off of hard drugs and stoped being a dam criminal and living a life of crime he went for a check up and got blood work done and in that blood work his liver enzymes were real real high. The Doc gace him a Hep test and low and behold he was positive for Hep C. Its not the best thing to have but its not horrible eather if he takes care of himself and is healthy and does not drink Alchool the biggest no no with any kind of Hep he can live a normal life and his liver will be fine. But I guess if it's "Get Hep C via tattoos" and "Get Hep C via me raping you for not getting tattoos" ... Oh and Aleks has said over and over that he's never spent any time in jail Yeah I know Alex has said that but there is no way to find out alot of people have said he was in prsion for about a year if not longer when he was around 19 ? The question with him and having ties with organizedcrime will always come up. Who knows I don't think we will ever find out the truth. As for robthom talking about Barnett I really really hope not ?Most knowledgeable MMA fans all know Josh is not only a Top 10 HW but a top 5 Hw and has been for years just look at who he has beat. I thouhgt he was talking about Alex becasue alot of the MMA websites and creidible ones at that like MMA Weekly keep putting him in around 7 to 10 on the HW top 10 list. And I just don't see how Alex deserves to be on the top 10 HE list there are so many better HW outs there who deserve to be a ahead of him in my opinion. Yep, Aleks has good hands but his ground game is pretty average. Barnett subbed him 10 seconds after their first fight hit the ground and that's what I'd expect from a rematch too. Eather that or just wait until he totaly gasses out. Alex has been fighting and destroying cans real fast now for the last few years we all forget how quick he gasses out when the fight goes over 3 minutees. Its weard Alex and Fedors cardio is night and day from one another even there fighting styles.Hay I am not saying Alex is not a good and exciting fighter but he is no top 10 even Top 15 Hw in my opinion. Barnett will run right threw him, The only chance he has in catching josh with a Big Punch before he gasses or before Josh gets him to the ground. Buy the way FL do you guys celabrate thanksgiving up there in that Artic waste land you come from of Tundra and ice better known as Canada ? If not don't you have something simular you celabrate in October just like thanksgiving ? Canadians celebrate thanksgiving in October.As for Aleks, it does surprise me that his ground game is suspect despite being Fedor's little bro. I thought Aleks was a former Russian Sambo Champion? If he doesn't have Hep, he should leave St. Petersburg and train with Fedor in Stary Oskol. Aleks has been a disappointment. Fedor was already heavyweight champion of the world at 26 and Aleks is 27 now. Wasted potential. I think most people forget to actually look at who Barnett has beat. Aside from a decision over Nog and win over Randy a decade ago who has he beat? Fanboys and bloggers love him but the record does not make the case that he has beat any top HWs in recent history. captain but thats what its like with most Top HW's in the sport of MMA sence it is buy far the weakest division in the whole sport. Who could you put ahead of him in the top 5 that has better wins and more mid level wins also. Sure there is not a whole shit load of top names on his record but he ran threw a ton of mid level HW's also like Alex,Monson,Semmy Schilt x2,Rizzo,Yuki Kondo when he was still good,and he alsobeat Hark Hunt when Hunt was ranked in the Top 10 of HW's, There are not to many HW's out there with better credentials then Josh. Plus I look at his actual fights and make judgements off that past just his record. He's got holes on his feet but I'd say he's got a better sub game than everyone at heavyweight except Fedor.
