Forrest Griffin is probably two bad knockouts away from being declared ‘done’ by most MMA fans, but at least he’s managed to carve himself a niche on the side as an auteur of silly books. His first book, Got Fight, sat on the New York Times bestsellers list for two months. Now comes the inevitable sequel: Be Ready When the Sh*t Goes Down – A Survival Guide to the Apocalypse.
In Got Fight? Forrest Griffin and Erich Krauss unleashed their unique brand of humor by showing people how to toughen up. Now in this sequel, Griffin and Krauss teach them the ultimate form of manliness: surviving the coming apocalypse.
For years Forrest Griffin has been waiting anxiously to find himself in a post-apocalyptic future. Why is he so excited about the near-extinction of mankind? Because of the freedom it offers: with grooming and personal hygiene no longer a prerequisite to social acceptance, men can let their mutton chops grow and live out their secret fantasies of becoming Wolverine. They can kill animals with their bare hands, practice throw knives all day, and never have to say “excuse me” or “please.”
With survival tips, illustrations, and photos of Forrest showing off his wilderness expertise, this book is a survival guide for everyone who believes the end is near and wants to be prepared. From eating in the wild to fighting dirty in a world that looks like Mad Max, Be Ready When the Sh*t Goes Down is the ultimate guide for staying alive, no matter the conditions.
Forrest’s first book is like 200 pages of random fight stories about getting ringworm, staph, and crapping your pants. I’m assuming this book will be more of the same, unchained from the requirement of having to stay semi-focused on MMA because of the success of the first book. This one comes out August 17th, which is still sooner than Forrest’s estimated return date to the cage, estimated for November or December.
