FEG owes a lot of kickboxers money

Another day, another list of fighters FEG has stiffed. Fresh off blaming K-1 for the cancellation of his Amsterdam Arena event, It’s Showtime head Simon Rutz is now sharing who on his roster still hasn’t been paid.

LK: We’ve heard a lot about K-1 not paying fighters, and I know Giorgio Petrosyan had problems with that last year. Are there It’s Showtime or Black Label fighters who are waiting to be paid by K-1?

SR: Yes, the following fighters have not been paid for a fight: Melvin Manhoef, Tyrone Spong, Daniel Ghita, Hesdy Gerges, Gago Drago, Pajonsuk, Dzevad Poturak, Chahid, and Giorgio Petrosyan still needs his win bonus from the last K-1 MAX tournament.  It is a lot of money! I never let our fighters fight before they are paid for their last fight.  I hear that some other fighters haven’t gotten their money for 4 fights.  It is a sad situation for all the fighters.

So if you were wondering why Melvin Manhoef was conspicuously absent from Dynamite!! 2010, there you go. It’s also interesting to note that it’s not just DREAM fighters getting stiffed – Rutz just named off a good chunk of K-1 competitors, including 3 from last year’s K-1’s World Grand Prix.

Again, it’s kinda surprising that people were still willing to fight without first getting paid – FEG has been fucking people over for nearly half a year now. After hearing It’s Showtime’s apparent policy of only withholding talent after the first screwjob, I think I’ll put together a giant one night tournament of my own. But perhaps that only works when you’ve got crime buddies around to keep pissed off Dutchmen and their Eastern European friends from stabbing you in the face.

  • YEAH RIGHT says:

Yeah, FEG is dead. Which sucks pretty hard, later on in that interview Liverkick asks him if they would be willing to buy out K1 and he says no. Oh well, looks like It’s Showtime! will be taking the number one kickboxing spot.

We could only hope they go on to HDNet too.

  • SHORT_BUS says:

    This is not surprising.

  • Reem.Hadouken says:

Sucks. As violent as these guys fight, not getting paid is a huge huge deal.

FEG should just fuck off and let these fighters go elsewhere.

At least we’ll see the Reem in the states sooner.

  • fightlinker says:

I’m sure someone will buy K-1. The big question is if they’re allowed to buy it clean or if they end up getting suckered into bringing a lot of the trouble people with them

  • DJ ThunderElbows says:

I dunno Ryan, the whole problem now is that they won’t give up control of the brand. The Puji deal seems to have fallen through because of it, as well as their most recent attempts with one or two other groups. The mob wants to own it and just be paid to keep fucking it up.

Surprisingly that’s not happening. Maybe they can co-promote with M1?

  • YEAH RIGHT says:

Reem.-All those fighters fight for other promotions.

I pity the fool who decides to buy out FEG. They would just be buying a shit load of debt.

I wish It’s Showtime had more exposure in the states, they’re dope.

  • Blackula Jonez says:

I just wish kickboxing was bigger in the states period, the sport can be so sublimely violent at times. I forget the fighters names but it was during the K1 Max tournament were going into the final minute of the 3rd round one fighter rallied to finish his opponent and put him away in the last ten seconds.

By the end of the fight i was on my feet punching at the air it was that damn riveting.

  • Reverend Clint says:

i used to watch kickboxing on espn at like 3am… thats where i first heard of cung le. wish it was still on.

  • frickshun says:

I wish they’d put more cardio kickboxing on TV.

  • arleziana says:

Now that is a very bad idea, owing boxers money. Maybe he should start making money online or get another job to pay those debts.
