Fedor to fight the winner of a reality show

Oh Fedor, why do you continue to make me cry? Latest news from the M1 camp is they’re making a reality show where 16 contestants compete for the right to fight the champion. Hmm … sounds kinda familiar, although the stupid advert for it claims this is ‘groundbreaking’ and ‘nothing like this has ever been seen before on American television before’.

I don’t think I have to go over the standard talking points on how Fedor is quickly becoming a joke. Honestly, this whole “Why isn’t Fedor fighting the best?” situation has gone from being somewhat debatable to completely farcical. At this point I don’t care who’s to blame for being unable to put Fedor in the ring with someone who’s not a complete joke. Is it the UFC for not being flexible with their contracts? Is it M1 for trying to cash Fedor in using a TUF clone? Is it Fedor for not taking a more active role in pursuing the best (say, like Randy Couture kinda has in a really dumb but probably honest way)?

At this point, I don’t fucking care any more. I’m done with the blame game. In fact, I’m just done with Fedor all together. Until he signs to fight a top 5 heavyweight opponent, he’s no longer getting the benefit of the doubt from me. This guy is starting to embody all of the reasons people hate boxers : they let business get in the way of fighting the best.

  • Big D D says:

“Until he signs to fight a top 5 heavyweight opponent, he’s no longer getting the benefit of the doubt from me.”

  • Lifer says:

starting the poll right now then:

how many walk-on’s and cameos will JCVD have on this series?

  • 20$ on JCVD being the host of the show

  • JackalAss says:

This sounds interesting…WHERE DO I SIGN UP?

Are there weapons allowed inside of the camp? If so I have first dibs on the bo-staff!

  • MacDaddy says:

Based on the video from that SAMBO tournament, shouldn’t the LOSER of the show have to fight Fedor? In fact maybe every show the loser of the match would then be pushed into a pit to be torn to meaty shreds by Fedor. Kind of that thing that Jabba the Hutt threw Luke Skywalker to in Return of the Jedi…

  • JackalAss says:

    What’s eating Gilbert Emelenko?

What’s next Fedor Cereal and Lunch Boxes?

  • #1 jackal says:

I want to go on this show. That way I can win the show and get the shit beat out of me by fedor, and millions of people around the world can watch it. That sounds like a good deal to me.

Whats the name of this show again, Finding Fedor?

  • MJC_123 says:

This is exactly how the so called number one MMA p2p fight acts.
    Jeez whats going on!

  • MacDaddy says:

I wonder if there will be a contestant from Las Vegas USA called “Bandy Bouture”, who looks suspiciously like Randy Couture with a thick Magnum PI mustache? Just a thought….

  • JackalAss says:

Lucha Libre “Randamundo Coketure” in the left corner!

  • ilostmydog says:

LOL @ having to preface the post with ‘THIS IS NOT A JOKE. THIS IS REAL.’

    Wow. Great job Fedor.

  • #1 jackal says:

Good call MacDaddy, And then after the fight Bandy Bouture takes off his mistache and it is revealed to the world that it is really Randy Coture and the crowd is flabergasted. And Dana shits his pants and says “what the fuck”

  • dignan says:

Whenever I start to doubt Fedor, I just go watch a few of those youtube mixes people have done…and all is right with the world.

I will admit, hardly any of the fighters I considered invincible in Pride have fared well in the UFC.

Obviously the cream has risen somewhat to the top with Nogueira(since Randy is out) and Rampage, but I expected alot out of the other moderate contenders, and obviously CroCop.

I hope Fedor builds on his legend in the UFC…shit…why not sign for a 3 fight deal over 15-18 months??? Prove to everyone you rule, and than fuck off.

  • kentyman says:

I’m tired of hearing he’s “undefeated”. He has a loss from a cut. Didn’t he beat Heath Herring with a cut?

  • JackalAss says:

I heard Fedor was signing a contract with Robot Wars.

  • The Gaijin says:

The cut was caused by an ILLEGAL ELBOW in a tournament fight against Kohsaka. Kohsaka was supposed to have been DQ’d for the infraction, but that would have left them with no one to go to the finals (b/c Fedor couldn’t continue vis the cut and Kohsaka would have lost the fight), thus they gave Kohsaka a “W” in order for the tournament to finish.

So yes – he’s still undefeated.

  • ilostmydog says:

Quit arguing semantics Gaijin. Your hero Fedor isn’t undefeated. :p

  • Mobb Deep says:

So Fedor is not only gonna fight someone that has no biz being in the same ring as him, but he and his coaches will also get to train the victim?

And by the way, Fedor is undeafeted, lets not pretend like the guy who cut him had a chance at doing anything to Fedor.

  • Stevie G. says:

My only wish is that the fighter that wins the thing beats Fedor just to slap M1 in the face for this ridiculously stupid move.

  • Stevie G. says:

Just found out… the kid that whooped the other kid’s ass in the previous video posted here at Fightlinker is a contestant.

  • pauli says:

kohsaka had no chance? pfft. y’all just don’t understand the true power of the tk guard.

  • danaunclefesterwhite says:

Oh man you guys are brutal with Fedor. Fedor didn’t like the contract that the UFC offered him and he didn’t sign. End of discussion. You are allowed to not sign a contract you’re not happy with out of free will you know. Slavery did end over 140 years ago. So stop bitching about Fedor not signing with the UFC. Would you sign a contract you weren’t happy with when there is another one on the table that you like? It’s pathetic how internet fans think that fighters are obliged to do as they say.

  • Hey, he can do whatever he wants. But he can also take his “#1 p4p” title and STUFF IT UP HIS FUCKING ASS

  • RaginAsian says:

“Hey, he can whatever he wants. But he can also take his “#1 p4p” title and STUFF IT UP HIS FUCKING ASS.”

    Amen to that.
If the guy wants to fight scrubs for the rest of his career, that’s fine by me. But if that’s the case, he doesn’t belong at number one in the heavyweight division.

  • Boondock says:

#1 Ranked heavyweight drama aside, I’m actually looking forward to this show so we can see a glimpse of what kind of training the Russian Devil squad does. Any real fighter has to be interested in what the so-called “best” is doing.

  • ajadoniz says:

JackalAss, I’m don’t about the Fedor cereal, but I have heard of the Fedor CANned Tuna.

  • danaunclefesterwhite says:

Fedor doesn’t claim to be #1 p4p as far as I know. He said in an interview that he doesn’t consider himself the best. It’s usually others who are calling him #1 p4p/heavyweight.

  • kentyman says:

I’m actually looking forward to this show so we can see a glimpse of what kind of training the Russian Devil squad does.

I saw some video with Fedor working out and it was very disappointing. They military press logs and use dead pigs as heavy bags.

  • iki says:

I have it on good authority that Fedor is currently standing in a tributary full of his own tears because some guy on the internet doesn’t consider him the p4p best fighter in the world.

  • MacDaddy says:

Hey guys, you’ve got to lay off Fedor. I mean, it must be pretty much a full time job separating M-1 Global from all of that sweet green cash, who’s got time to train for legitimate contenders (as if there were any out there not in the UFC)? Not to worry though I won’t be much longer before those dumb mooks run dry from the wallet and Fedor can go back to being our loveable SAMBO teddy bear…

  • iki says:

Let’s pretend there is such a word as snarkyness. Don’t let mine fool you. I love this site. One of 2 MMA related I have bookmarked. Keep up the great work.

  • s’all good iki. Appreciate the bookmarks. Rock on!

  • RoB says:

hey fuck all of you, too much love going around.

  • MacDaddy says:

Boondock, I’ve seen some footage of Fedor training and it basically goes – they jog (in awesome K-Mart style sweats), they workout on a playground doing stuff like wheelbarrows, pull ups, push ups, drags etc. then they hit pads for a while. Eventually they went to what looked like a high school gym and did some wrestling on those fold up gymnastics mats. The only equipment they used was a barbell that looked like it had been home made in Russian prison (I guess Aleks took a shop class) and some kettlebells (what is it with Russians and kettlebells? – they’re crazy for them). I watched that footage of Matt Hughes’ new 150000 square foot gym yesterday and laughed because Fedor’s entire training equipment wouldn’t have bought him a membership at H.I.T. Squad….

  • MJC_123 says:

What do you reckon the money is on him fighting in DREAM in a few months time against CRO-COP again?

  • bruceleesreincarnation says:

what do you expect when you sign with a company that produces broadway plays. they wanted to bring “pomp and circumstance” to mma was M-1’s quote at their first press conference. well…..this is the start of it. we might even see the Broadway Musical next called, “FEDOR!”
