Fedor: I’m down with moving down, but Strikeforce hasn’t asked

In a recent interview while training in Holland, Fedor Emelianenko was asked about fighting at 205:

MF: Do you consider dropping to light heavyweight? And possibly fight Dan Henderson for the light heavyweight title?

F: yes i have talked about it with my manager Vadim Finklestein. But as far as i know, there is no offer made by Strikeforce to fight as a light heavyweight.

MF: What is your reaction about Zuffa taking over Strikeforce? Did you saw it comming? Did M-1 know about it?

F: the Strikeforce Heavy weight tournament will continue and the fighters will keep on fighting for Strikeforce. I consider myself a fighter and thats my focus. All other things are for my management.

MF: Were you suprised by it?

F: i was not really surprised. For me it makes no difference for which organisation im fighting as long as i can fight.

I always find it interesting how easy everything related to Fedor sounds in interviews. From signing a new contract to agreeing to the next fight to dropping to 205, it’s no problem man! Fedor and his people are professionals, they just want to fight! Yet over and over, everything turns out to be a giant pain in the ass. Endless contract holdouts. Fighter ducking. And does anyone really think Fedor’s going to drop down to 205? I didn’t think so. That’d be way too smart.

  • Reverend Clint says:

Fedor fears fighters faster and better than he is

  • Jim Harbaugh Scramble says:

who the hell is this “fightlinker” guy? A new writer?

  • Spicoli says:

After 2 losses, that should be the move he makes, without anyone asking him.

  • Reverend Clint says:

I found “fightlinker” down by the docks giving handjobs to fisherman for a half eaten halibut

  • 7th Offensive says:

I love how Randy Couture has lost half his fights, fought washed up nobodies like james toney, and is still considered “in the mix” on some level.

Fedor loses twice and he’s done and needs to go to lhw. haha.

  • DJ ThunderElbows says:

Randy lost, everyone said he should go to LHW, and he did.  Ha ha.

I hope Fedor drops so we can see him test himself against people with the same skills and speed as him.  Should be some good fights.

  • pewnt says:

Fighter can, and wants to compete at a lower weight class, they tell the promotion, and opponents are offered at that weight class. EX. Florian, Tyson Griffin, Jens, Leonard Garcia………

    Fedor’s world:
The promotion offers you a fight at a lower weight class. M-1 proceeds to use the weight drop as leverage for round 561 of contract re-negotiations.
The Promotion offers you a fight at heavy weight, and you use that as leverage telling them you have been dieting to get to 205. Re-negotiations commence.

Fedor, please tell you managment team what weight you feel would be best for you to fight at.

M-1, please tell Scott Coker what weight your fighter wants to fight at.

Scott, make a fight…….ROCKET SCIENCE BITCHES!!!*

*I’ve need to back off the Joe Rogan Pod Casts…..but how could I live without the wisdom of Madflavor!

  • CAP says:

205 at least sounds like an option. I’m curious how much better he can be without 20-30 extra pounds.

  • frickshun says:

^^Nigga please. He only needs to drop 5-10 lbs & can weight-cut the rest.

  • CAP says:

He doesn’t know how that voodoo weight-cut shit works, that’s cheating. Ask Fink.

  • iamphoenix says:

7 OFF is retarded. randy isn’t retarded like fedor.
