EliteXC books communists

You may remember Hector Lombard as the judoka who was supposed to fight Karo Parisyan back in New Jersey, before US Immigrations realized he was a dirty evil Cuban communist and denied his visa to fight in America. We all hoped at the time that it was a temporary setback and that with a bit more effort Lombard would be able to fight for the UFC. But unfortunately that’s not the case, because now Lombard has signed with EliteXC.

The big question mark I’m wondering about is if Lombard is actually going to be fighting for EliteXC or if he’ll be fighting for one of ProElite’s international promotions like Cage Rage or Hardcore Fighting Championships (has that been officially announced yet???). Apparently, getting a Cuban into America is still pretty hard unless he arrives on a makeshift raft off the coast of Florida. But considering the trouble Gary Shaw has gone through in the past to get fighters to their events, it wouldn’t surprise me if he gives that method a shot.

  • Accomando says:

What do you think the C, in Elite XC stands for?

You guessed it, communist. Shaw is a commie too, we shouldn’t be surprised by the treachory.

Letting a commie fight in MMA, wow, what is this world coming to????

  • Kid Nate says:

Hector got his Austrailian citizenship since the UFC visa fiasco. He’s now a card carrying member of George Bush’s coalition of the willing and welcome in all member countries.

  • Márcio says:

This guy is tough, he’ll probably be a nice adiction to EliteXC middleweight division. I bet he would do well in the UFC as well, they dropped the ball on this one.

  • MacDaddy says:

Look at the guns on that guy and tell me he wouldn’t have been able to Osoto-gari Karo “fatty fat fat” Parisiyan…

  • Remember that judo is all about technique and weight distribution. Once Karo has you past a certain angle, all that weight up top actually helps him throw you

  • clint notestine says:

So EXC has Communists, Nazi’s, Pot heads, Mike Kyle and Crazy Horse? Damn and I thought UFC had problems having Sean Sherk the the other roid heads.

  • clint notestine says:

I forgot coke heads and street fighters.

  • Hattori Hanzo says:

EliteXC takes the superstar, old school, and up and coming fighters the UFC don’t want or don’t want to pay for.

  • Jersey Tomato says:

I got no problem with Lombardo fighting in Elite XC provided they pay him in a currency that he can use back home, say….

    2,500 plantain bananas to show
    2,500 plantain bananas to win

  • funny thing is the guy lives in australia and doesn’t have anything to do with Cuba.

  • Ted Dibiase says:

that dude is on the juice. any one who looks like that from south america is juicing. its over the counter style down there.
