Demian Maia outstrikes Mark Munoz, but still manages to lose somehow

What alternate universe have we fallen into where Demian Maia can hang with Mark Munoz on the feet? I remember Maia holding his own against Dan Miller that one time but I just attributed that to all the crazy shit that was going on in Dan’s life at the time. But once again, Maia shows up with improved striking and takes it to his opponent!

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for Maia to win. While Maia was owning on the exchanges on the feet, Munoz was controlling the octagon and the ground when things did go there. He tired out massively in the third round, but he was still able to take that round and with that the fight. I had it 29-28 Munoz with him taking rounds one and two. So did two other judges. The third scored it 30-27 for Munoz, which is a crime against humanity, sir. A. Fucking. Crime.

I’m guessing you mean you had rounds 2 and 3 for Munoz, big guy… because round 1 was pretty much all Maia.
