Deja Mur

At this point it’s practically an annual tradition. Just like pulling the Christmas tree out of storage, it’s time once again for the UFC to put Frank Mir in the cage with Brock Lesnar:

UFC officials, as well as those close to Lesnar, indicated that Frank Mir, with whom Lesnar has split two fights, is his next likely opponent. The fight makes sense. Mir is coming off a knockout win over Mirko Filipovic on Sept. 25, and he has been Lesnar’s biggest career rival, with insults between the two going back and forth dating back nearly three years.

Lesnar vs. Mir III is almost guaranteed to be a huge fight, given that Mir is an expert of hyping a fight, but also, legitimately, Mir doesn’t like Lesnar, feeling Lesnar disrespected him after beating him at UFC 100. The match would likely be as big or bigger than any championship match that UFC could promote right now.

Their first match was a huge success on pay-per-view. Their second, which Lesnar won via second round TKO, was at the time the biggest match in mixed martial arts history, going by public interest.

Yeah yeah money fame hype blah blah blah. Me bored. Plz to be make something different k? Off the top of my head, there’s a couple of heavyweights out there that deserve to be raped by a giant gorilla more than Frank Mir.

  • Jim says:

Crap, looks like your about to have a bad time (with spammers).

  • Reverend Clint says:

    deleted that “person”

i’ll watch lesnar either beat on Frank or Frank punch him in the face a couple times until Lesnar cries.

  • Omomatta says:

Brock better start juicing again. It would look really bad if Mir beat him.

  • Márcio says:

Kinda of a no brainer, Mir’s weak ass wrestling is costum made for Brock’s fighting style, should be a easy payday for Brock.

  • kwagnuth says:

Mir better start working on his takedown defence. It will be interesting to see how Brock responds to such a humiliating defeat.

  • agentsmith says:

Cage Potato is suggesting feeding Big Nog to Brock, and give Brendan Schaub his wish since he called out Mir.

  • Grappo says:

    do not want

  • blutspender says:

This is a tough fight to call.

  • glassjawsh says:

brock vs roy nelson, schaub vs mir, big nog vs pudding from the retirement home

  • Symbul says:

Seen this fight. Twice. No thanks.

I’d actually be interested in seeing Nog-Lesnar, even if Nog’s not looked great lately and has been stitched together about as much as Frankenstein’s monster.

  • SST says:

Nog vs Lesnar with Josh Rosenthal reffing. Any other combo, Nog will lose due to early stoppage.

  • G Funk says:

    What happened to Mario Peepeesaki?

  • Reverend Clint says:

nog might sub lesnar since brock probably cant tko him

  • Garp2 says:

Not interested in seeing rematches in general. When has a sequel EVER been as good as the original?
That goes for GSP vs. Koscheck too.
I vote feeding Kongo to Brock next.
And the loser of Carwin vs. Nelson should go to Gonzaga. Schaub vs. Mir. Madsen vs. Mitrione. Keep sending Struve vs. cans.
All the rest of them should take on BJ Penn and The Undertaker in an electrified cage. BJ and The Undertaker are winning, until the referee is unmasked and found to be… Frankie Edgar.
    Then shit starts getting real.
