Typically, Dana White sticks to the whole “Ref’s job is the hardest, respect respect respect” shtick, even when he’s in Buttfuck Nowhere and Buttfuck McGee ends up reffing half the fights. But last night he took a shot at Steve Mazzagatti for letting the Griffin / Evans fight go too long:
UFC president Dana White was upset after the match as Mazzagatti, saying he thought the stoppage was late, but was more upset over an earlier stoppage in which Cheick Kongo was bludgeoning Mostapha Al-Turk.
“He’s a nice guy, but he’s not a referee,” said White.
I dunno really what White is talking about … I didn’t see anything wrong with either stoppages. And Mazzagatti is nowhere near as bad as Mario “Finish Him” Yamasaki and didn’t allow extra horrific blows to the mug like Yves Lavinge did in the Rampage / Wanderlei fight.
