Sarah Palin isn’t the only person out there busy learning her lines and talking points. Lorenzo Fertitta is also hitting the books hard, memorizing all the talking points about Fedor and competing organizations and, in the above video, the economy.
There was another video a week or two back where Lorenzo cribbed Dana’s speech about Fedor being irrelevant outside of the UFC. That one was funny because they were sitting next to each other at the time and when Lorenzo was done he looked over at Dana as if to say “Nailed it!” The only thing missing was a thumbs up.
This time, you’ve got Dana and Lorenzo both saying that tough economic times help the UFC because a night with a bunch of friends watching a UFC PPV is a cheap night out. Watch the clip above as they literally parrot the exact same line about beer and pizza.
Now here’s what I’m wondering: how does this reasoning apply to the way they price their live gate? 50 bucks spread across 5 or 6 friends is indeed a cheap night in, but $300 tickets for everyone is an $1800 night, and that’s before tiny overpriced beer and before overpriced shitty pizza at the arena.
