After losses, fighters do all sorts of strange things. They’ll flip their training on it’s head, replace partners and coaches, get a sports psychologist, or have a long refreshing chat with Jesus. But not Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, who’s so cowboy he just went and found himself again by doing rodeo. Rodeoing? Whatever, that thing with the horses n bulls n crap:
“After my loss to Ben (Henderson), I went and did some rodeoing again,” Cerrone told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “It felt good to figure out where I came from.
“We have a saying that says you come out ‘shittin-and-gittin,’ and that’s what I did. I was in the back saying, ‘Come on boys. Let’s rodeo. Let’s do this.’ That’s what drove me to go.”
Considering the whuppin he delivered last night, perhaps more guys need to do a little rodeo. I’m not sure exactly how it helped since most of the fight was all rock’em sock’em, but who knows. Maybe Cerrone’s idea of rodeo involves punching bulls in the face.
