While UFC 99 is still two and a half weeks away (wait, that’s soon, wow, there’s a lot of MMA in the next couple of weeks), I wanted to bring to all y’alls attention a video we made at All Elbows of one day of training with Dan Hardy, the mohawked Brit taking on Marcus Davis in Germany. My partner and I did this about a month ago, at the very beginning of Hardy’s training (about two days into it) but wanted to wait until my interview with him in Fighters Only Magazine was available for people to thumb through while watching the video. Check out the vid and my article in Fighters Only Magazine (UK issue 51, US/Canada issue #4).

Kingdom of Mayhem: Part Three

kom_3-650x301 Kingdom of Mayhem: Part Three

Yes! I’m proud to finally present the last in a three part series my partner Casey and I have made, Kingdom of Mayhem: Road to Dream Middleweight Championship. We’ve been following Jason “Mayhem” Miller, as he prepares for his rematch with Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza for the Dream MW title. In this final episode, we review Mayhem’s most recent bout with Kala Hose in Kingdom MMA, the title contender’s last night in Los Angeles before leaving to Japan, the creation of the notorious ‘Strip of Doom’, and a look back at all the training and ridiculous moments over the last few weeks.

DREAM is tonight at 2 am Pacific, 5 am Eastern, LIVE on HDNet and Mayhem will be the main event.  I’ll be up watching that, plus Kid Yamamoto, Abel Cullum, and JZ vs Kawajiri (Crusher!!), and of course, the Super Hulk Tournament!

Here’s Part Three of Kingdom of Mayhem: Road to Dream Middleweight Championship —-

Gina Carano Pontiac promo thing

Friday, May 22nd, 2009 by fightlinker

Fun interview with Gina Carano … it’s impossible to hate on a girl who laughs over the idea of breaking her nose. If you’re wondering what’s up with the car sitting in the background, this is some strange promotion for Pontiac … gotta love it when advertising tie ins have nothing to do with anything. Part two is right here.

Kingdom of Mayhem: Part Two

mayhemellis_021-650x433 Kingdom of Mayhem: Part Two

Huzzah! We’re done with Part Two of our web series on the inimitable Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Kingdom of Mayhem: Road to DREAM Middleweight Championship. I forgot to post photos from the shoot but let’s get straight to the video. Jason boarded a plane for Tokyo today (the fight is in Yokohama) to fight Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza for the DREAM Middleweight title next Tuesday on May 26th (televised at 12 am here on the left coast on HDnet). We didn’t get to follow our subject to Japan this time but perhaps next time.

In this episode we followed Mayhem to the Jason Ellis Show for “Mayhem Mondays” and then we’re off to Mayhem’s last hard training session at Gracie Barra Cerritos with Renato “Babalu” Sobral, kickboxing legend Rob Kaman, wrestler David Bertolini who is currently at the Olympic Training Center, and skilled jiu jitsu practioner, Bruno Eaulista.

Here’s part one if you missed it, part two below, and check back later this week for part three.

Sneak peak at part three after the cut.

Kevin Florini?

Sunday, May 17th, 2009 by dulljake

I normally hate Dr.Phil, but I’m glad he’s bringing out a bunch of stupid “fight club” kids in front of his audience to shame them. First off, their street fight was terrible; I think I’ve had a few tussles with my baby sister that looked less awkward. Secondly, who thinks that fighting in a classroom full of desks and other pointy shit is a good idea? Have these morons never heard of a park or something? And finally, how lame was their training? A couple pullups and jumping over stupid obstacles…yeah, the world will be your oyster with that kind of touch regiment, chief.

Obviously I realize that Dr. Phil doesn’t really watch MMA, but it it so hard to remember the name Kenny Florian correctly? Now Ken’s new nickname will have to be Kenflorini. Hey, It’s better than what he has now, man. (props MMAjunkie for the find)
