Bobby Lashley continues to challenge himself

In a world full of uncertainty, it’s almost comforting to know that one thing will never change: Bobby Lashley will continue to fight cans. After leaving Strikeforce because their hand-picked opponents turned out to be too tough, he’s now fight on this weekend’s Titan Fighting Championships on HDNet against even sparser oppositon:

Lashley’s opponent was originally supposed to be a guy named James Jack, but Jack has dropped out of the fight and been replaced by a guy named John Ott. In his last fight, a unanimous decision victory over Brian Imes at Bellator 26, Ott weighed in at 184.75 pounds.

Yes, that’s right: Lashley, who’s 246 pounds of chiseled muscle, is going to fight a guy who’s been fighting 185 pounders, and losing to them almost as often as beating them.

Titan Fighting is trying to put its best spin on the matchup, releasing a statement describing Ott as “an amateur body builder” who “is currently walking at 225 lbs.”

The lame opponent it’s 100% Lashley’s fault. He was originally supposed to face the 5-4 James Jack before Jack mysteriously dropped off the face of the earth. My guess there: drug bender. I’m sure Jack’ll come to on Monday with a vague notion that there was something he was supposed to do over the weekend. Was it smoke more crack? Couldn’t hurt!
