Bellator 77 Preview

Why should you watch the opening round of Bellator’s lightweight tournament?  Well let’s be honest: because there’s no UFC events for another three weeks, so if you wanna get yer human cockfighting on this weekend, it’s either this or Score Fighting Series 6, or maybe you’d prefer Super Fight League 5 (headlined by a guy making his pro debut).  So just consider it along the same lines as how the UFC’s seemingly weak “fight night” cards are often more entertaining than the PPV’s.

It’s mostly new blood this time around, with only 3 of the 8 fighters returning from previous tourneys, plus a couple Zuffa veterans, and few of Bellator’s fresh crop of Russian killers.

Main Card – LW Quarterfinals:
Dave “The Fugitive” Jansen (17-2) vs Magomed Saadulaev (14-1)
Marcin Held (13-2) vs Murad “Strangler” Machaev (9-0)
Rene “The Brazilian Bomber” Nazare (10-2) vs Ricardo Tirloni (14-2)
Rich “No Love” Clementi (44-21-1) vs Alexander “Tiger” Sarnavskiy (20-0)
