UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was recently pegged as the eighth-highest earning female athlete by Forbes.
Rousey earned $6.5 million from June 2014 to June 2015 according to the magazine. She is the lone combat sports athlete to make the list.
Tennis superstar Maria Sharapova was estimated at $29.7 million, with $23 million coming from endorsements. The rest of the list included Serena Williams, Carolina Wozniacki, Danica Patrick and Ana Ivanovic.
Rousey starred in films such as “Fast and Furious 7,” “The Expendables 3” and “Entourage,” also releasing her autobiography, “My Fight/Your Fight.”
Inside the Octagon, the former Olympic bronze medalist has bested Cat Zingano and Bethe Correia in recent months. She is likely headed for a third meeting with Miesha Tate later this year.
